103593004f soc: fsl: guts: implement the RCW override procedure
Add support for the RCW override procedure which enables runtime
reconfiguration of the protocol running on a SerDes lane. The procedure
is done through the DCFG DCSR space which now can be defined as the
second memory region of the guts DT node.
Support is added on the following SoCs: LS1046A, LS1088A, LS2088A.

The procedure is exported to the "client" driver - the Lynx10G SerDes
PHY driver - through the following functions:
- fsl_guts_lane_init() used to notify the initial / at boot time lane
mode running on a SerDes lane.
- fsl_guts_lane_validate() used to validate that changing the protocol
on a specific lane is supported.
- fsl_guts_lane_set_mode() which can be used to request the RCW
procedure be executed for a specific lane.
The necessary changes in the Lynx10G SerDes driver are also implemented
in this patch.

Since the RCW override procedure is different depending on the SoC, the
private fsl_soc_data structure is updated with two new per SoC callbacks
(.serdes_get_rcw_override() and .serdes_init_rcwcr()) which get used
from the generic fsl_guts_lane_set_mode() function. These two callbacks
hide all the SoC specific register offsets, masks and values so that the
_set_mode() procedure is straightforward.

b87cc878c6 soc: fsl: guts: make it easier to determine on which SoC we are running
Add a new qoriq_die enum to be used as an index in the fsl_soc_die
array. A new fsl_soc_die_match_one() function is also added so that we
can directly determine if the SVR is a match with a specific DIE.
The SVR value read from the DCFG CCSR is also kept in the global soc
structure so that it can be accessed when needed.

These changes are useful because the guts driver will need to easily
determine on which SoC it's running in the next patches.

55e6d7486a soc: fsl: guts: add a global structure to hold state
Add the fsl_soc_guts structure in order to pass information like base
addresses, endianness etc between the init time and the runtime
operations (RCW override) which will get added in future patches.
There is no point in mapping and unmapping the DCFG CCSR space every
time we need to make a read, just map it once and keep its reference in
this new global struture.

54d26adf64 soc: fsl: qbman: Use raw spinlock for cgr_lock
[ Upstream commit fbec4e7fed ]

smp_call_function always runs its callback in hard IRQ context, even on
PREEMPT_RT, where spinlocks can sleep. So we need to use a raw spinlock
for cgr_lock to ensure we aren't waiting on a sleeping task.

Although this bug has existed for a while, it was not apparent until
commit ef2a8d5478 ("net: dpaa: Adjust queue depth on rate change")
which invokes smp_call_function_single via qman_update_cgr_safe every
time a link goes up or down.

0e6521b0f9 soc: fsl: qbman: Always disable interrupts when taking cgr_lock

smp_call_function_single disables IRQs when executing the callback. To
prevent deadlocks, we must disable IRQs when taking cgr_lock elsewhere.
This is already done by qman_update_cgr and qman_delete_cgr; fix the
other lockers.

075c01f60b soc: fsl: cpm1: qmc: Fix rx channel reset
commit dfe66d012a upstream.

The qmc_chan_reset_rx() set the is_rx_stopped flag. This leads to an
inconsistent state in the following sequence.
    qmc_chan_stop()
    qmc_chan_reset()
Indeed, after the qmc_chan_reset() call, the channel must still be
stopped. Only a qmc_chan_start() call can move the channel from stopped
state to started state.

Fix the issue removing the is_rx_stopped flag setting from
qmc_chan_reset()

78789a841b dpaa2-eth: increase busy retries when interracting with QBMAN
It seems that there are circumstances when access to QBMAN through the
software portals will be delayed. Accessing some lower speeds interfaces
while also QBMAN commands are issued from the kernel will lead to
software timeouts happening in the dpaa2-eth driver.

What we have observed is that management commands like re-arming the
interrupts on a specific channel, waiting for a dequeue response to be
available etc, will take a longer time to complete.
All these commands have to wait for a valid bit to be set for the
command to be interpreted as successfully completed.

Increase the maximum number of times the Linux kernel drivers will busy
poll for a successful result of one of these commands.

c2e094d477 soc: fsl: dpio: fix qbman alignment error in the virtualization context
When running as a guest, under KVM, the CENA region is mapped
as device memory, so uncacheable. When the memory is mapped
as device memory, the unaligned accesses are not allowed.
Memcpy is optimized to transfer 8 bytes at a time regardless
of the start address and might cause alignment issues.

Port).

During test this improved performance on the LS2088a slightly. No

ad2e04b9ae soc: fsl: dpio: change CENA regs to be cacheable
Change cache enabled regsiter accessed to be cacheable
plus non-shareable to meet the performance requirement.
QMan's CENA region contains registers and structures that
are 64byte in size and are inteneded to be accessed using a
single 64 byte bus transaction, therefore this portal
memory should be configured as cache-enabled. Also because
the write allocate stash transcations of QBMan should be
issued as cachable and non-coherent(non-sharable), we
need to configure this region to be non-shareable.

b1ca342553 soc: fsl: qbman: use CMAs to allocate QBMan private resources under ACPI
Set up reserved memory regions for the QBMan devices under ACPI using
Contiguous Memory Allocations (CMA) at probe. Changing the following
default CMA kernel configs is required at build:
(a) Set CONFIG_CMA_SIZE_MBYTES to 256
(b) Set CONFIG_CMA_ALIGNMENT to 12

The qbman_init_private_mem() API is updated to indicate which device is
calling it (BMan or QMan).

238a629f90 soc: fsl: qbman: ECC error reporting fixes
Interpret the Egress traffic management internal memory ECC errors that
can be reported by the QMAN_EADR. While CEETM isn't enabled in the code
base at the time of this patch, all values returned by the register
should be interpreted for safety.

While here, correct the number of QMAN_EDATA bits used for ECC errors in
the WQ context internal memory.

Furthermore, fix the address mask for ECC errors in the SW portal ring
internal memory.

All values are aligned with the QBMan Reference Manual.

ec1db33ebe drivers/soc/fsl: add EPU FSM configuration for deep sleep
In the last stage of deep sleep, software will trigger a Finite
State Machine (FSM) to control the hardware procedure, such a
board isolation, killing PLLs, removing power, and so on.

When the system is waked up by an interrupt, the FSM controls
the hardware to complete the early resume procedure.

This patch configure the EPU FSM preparing for deep sleep.

soc: fsl: Explicitly include correct DT includes
The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate
of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus.
As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they
"temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h
and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include
files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and
replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to
explicitly include the correct includes.

8453e7924a soc: fsl: qe: Replace all non-returning strlcpy with strscpy
strlcpy() reads the entire source buffer first.
This read may exceed the destination size limit.
This is both inefficient and can lead to linear read
overflows if a source string is not NUL-terminated [1].
In an effort to remove strlcpy() completely [2], replace
strlcpy() here with strscpy().
No return values were used, so direct replacement is safe.

Fix build errors in soc/fsl/qe/usb.c when QUICC_ENGINE is not set.
This happens when PPC_EP88XC is set, which selects CPM1 & CPM.
When CPM is set, USB_FSL_QE can be set without QUICC_ENGINE
being set. When USB_FSL_QE is set, QE_USB deafults to y, which
causes build errors when QUICC_ENGINE is not set. Making
QE_USB depend on QUICC_ENGINE prevents QE_USB from defaulting to y.

59272ad8d9 bus: fsl-mc: Make remove function return void
The value returned by an fsl-mc driver's remove function is mostly
ignored.  (Only an error message is printed if the value is non-zero
and then device removal continues unconditionally.)

So change the prototype of the remove function to return no value. This
way driver authors are not tempted to assume that passing an error to
the upper layer is a good idea. All drivers are adapted accordingly.
There is no intended change of behaviour, all callbacks were prepared to
return 0 before.

in a generic error message, otherwise the value is ignored and the device
gets unbound.

It is preferred to use typed property access functions (i.e.
of_property_read_<type> functions) rather than low-level
of_get_property/of_find_property functions for reading properties. As
part of this, convert of_get_property/of_find_property calls to the

for presence of a property and nothing more.

The assigned timeslot masks are 64bit values.
In case of 64 timeslots the code uses (1 << 64) which is undefined on a
64bit value. On the PowerPC architecture, this lead to an incorrect
result as (1 << 64) produces the same result as (1 << 0).

Fix the masks values taking care of the 64 timeslots case.

- Core:
 
    The bulk is the rework of the MSI subsystem to support per device MSI
    interrupt domains. This solves conceptual problems of the current
    PCI/MSI design which are in the way of providing support for PCI/MSI[-X]
    and the upcoming PCI/IMS mechanism on the same device.
 
    IMS (Interrupt Message Store] is a new specification which allows device
    manufactures to provide implementation defined storage for MSI messages
    contrary to the uniform and specification defined storage mechanisms for
    PCI/MSI and PCI/MSI-X. IMS not only allows to overcome the size limitations
    of the MSI-X table, but also gives the device manufacturer the freedom to
    store the message in arbitrary places, even in host memory which is shared
    with the device.
 
    There have been several attempts to glue this into the current MSI code,
    but after lengthy discussions it turned out that there is a fundamental
    design problem in the current PCI/MSI-X implementation. This needs some
    historical background.
 
    When PCI/MSI[-X] support was added around 2003, interrupt management was
    completely different from what we have today in the actively developed
    architectures. Interrupt management was completely architecture specific
    and while there were attempts to create common infrastructure the
    commonalities were rudimentary and just providing shared data structures and
    interfaces so that drivers could be written in an architecture agnostic
    way.
 
    The initial PCI/MSI[-X] support obviously plugged into this model which
    resulted in some basic shared infrastructure in the PCI core code for
    setting up MSI descriptors, which are a pure software construct for holding
    data relevant for a particular MSI interrupt, but the actual association to
    Linux interrupts was completely architecture specific. This model is still
    supported today to keep museum architectures and notorious stranglers
    alive.
 
    In 2013 Intel tried to add support for hot-pluggable IO/APICs to the kernel,
    which was creating yet another architecture specific mechanism and resulted
    in an unholy mess on top of the existing horrors of x86 interrupt handling.
    The x86 interrupt management code was already an incomprehensible maze of
    indirections between the CPU vector management, interrupt remapping and the
    actual IO/APIC and PCI/MSI[-X] implementation.
 
    At roughly the same time ARM struggled with the ever growing SoC specific
    extensions which were glued on top of the architected GIC interrupt
    controller.
 
    This resulted in a fundamental redesign of interrupt management and
    provided the today prevailing concept of hierarchical interrupt
    domains. This allowed to disentangle the interactions between x86 vector
    domain and interrupt remapping and also allowed ARM to handle the zoo of
    SoC specific interrupt components in a sane way.
 
    The concept of hierarchical interrupt domains aims to encapsulate the
    functionality of particular IP blocks which are involved in interrupt
    delivery so that they become extensible and pluggable. The X86
    encapsulation looks like this:

    where the remapping domain is an optional component and in case that it is
    not available the PCI/MSI[-X] domains have the vector domain as their
    parent. This reduced the required interaction between the domains pretty
    much to the initialization phase where it is obviously required to
    establish the proper parent relation ship in the components of the
    hierarchy.
 
    While in most cases the model is strictly representing the chain of IP
    blocks and abstracting them so they can be plugged together to form a
    hierarchy, the design stopped short on PCI/MSI[-X]. Looking at the hardware
    it's clear that the actual PCI/MSI[-X] interrupt controller is not a global
    entity, but strict a per PCI device entity.
 
    Here we took a short cut on the hierarchical model and went for the easy
    solution of providing "global" PCI/MSI domains which was possible because
    the PCI/MSI[-X] handling is uniform across the devices. This also allowed
    to keep the existing PCI/MSI[-X] infrastructure mostly unchanged which in
    turn made it simple to keep the existing architecture specific management
    alive.
 
    A similar problem was created in the ARM world with support for IP block
    specific message storage. Instead of going all the way to stack a IP block
    specific domain on top of the generic MSI domain this ended in a construct
    which provides a "global" platform MSI domain which allows overriding the
    irq_write_msi_msg() callback per allocation.
 
    In course of the lengthy discussions we identified other abuse of the MSI
    infrastructure in wireless drivers, NTB etc. where support for
    implementation specific message storage was just mindlessly glued into the
    existing infrastructure. Some of this just works by chance on particular
    platforms but will fail in hard to diagnose ways when the driver is used
    on platforms where the underlying MSI interrupt management code does not
    expect the creative abuse.
 
    Another shortcoming of today's PCI/MSI-X support is the inability to
    allocate or free individual vectors after the initial enablement of
    MSI-X. This results in an works by chance implementation of VFIO (PCI
    pass-through) where interrupts on the host side are not set up upfront to
    avoid resource exhaustion. They are expanded at run-time when the guest
    actually tries to use them. The way how this is implemented is that the
    host disables MSI-X and then re-enables it with a larger number of
    vectors again. That works by chance because most device drivers set up
    all interrupts before the device actually will utilize them. But that's
    not universally true because some drivers allocate a large enough number
    of vectors but do not utilize them until it's actually required,
    e.g. for acceleration support. But at that point other interrupts of the
    device might be in active use and the MSI-X disable/enable dance can
    just result in losing interrupts and therefore hard to diagnose subtle
    problems.
 
    Last but not least the "global" PCI/MSI-X domain approach prevents to
    utilize PCI/MSI[-X] and PCI/IMS on the same device due to the fact that IMS
    is not longer providing a uniform storage and configuration model.
 
    The solution to this is to implement the missing step and switch from
    global PCI/MSI domains to per device PCI/MSI domains. The resulting
    hierarchy then looks like this:

    There is work in progress to convert ARM over which will replace the
    platform MSI train-wreck. The cleanup of VFIO, NTB and other creative

  architecture specific and while there were attempts to create common
  infrastructure the commonalities were rudimentary and just providing
  shared data structures and interfaces so that drivers could be written
  in an architecture agnostic way.

  The initial PCI/MSI[-X] support obviously plugged into this model
  which resulted in some basic shared infrastructure in the PCI core
  code for setting up MSI descriptors, which are a pure software
  construct for holding data relevant for a particular MSI interrupt,
  but the actual association to Linux interrupts was completely
  architecture specific. This model is still supported today to keep
  museum architectures and notorious stragglers alive.

  In 2013 Intel tried to add support for hot-pluggable IO/APICs to the
  kernel, which was creating yet another architecture specific mechanism
  and resulted in an unholy mess on top of the existing horrors of x86
  interrupt handling. The x86 interrupt management code was already an
  incomprehensible maze of indirections between the CPU vector
  management, interrupt remapping and the actual IO/APIC and PCI/MSI[-X]
  implementation.

  At roughly the same time ARM struggled with the ever growing SoC
  specific extensions which were glued on top of the architected GIC
  interrupt controller.

  This resulted in a fundamental redesign of interrupt management and
  provided the today prevailing concept of hierarchical interrupt
  domains. This allowed to disentangle the interactions between x86
  vector domain and interrupt remapping and also allowed ARM to handle
  the zoo of SoC specific interrupt components in a sane way.

  The concept of hierarchical interrupt domains aims to encapsulate the
  functionality of particular IP blocks which are involved in interrupt
  delivery so that they become extensible and pluggable. The X86
  encapsulation looks like this:

  where the remapping domain is an optional component and in case that
  it is not available the PCI/MSI[-X] domains have the vector domain as
  their parent. This reduced the required interaction between the
  domains pretty much to the initialization phase where it is obviously
  required to establish the proper parent relation ship in the
  components of the hierarchy.

  While in most cases the model is strictly representing the chain of IP
  blocks and abstracting them so they can be plugged together to form a
  hierarchy, the design stopped short on PCI/MSI[-X]. Looking at the
  hardware it's clear that the actual PCI/MSI[-X] interrupt controller
  is not a global entity, but strict a per PCI device entity.

  Here we took a short cut on the hierarchical model and went for the
  easy solution of providing "global" PCI/MSI domains which was possible
  because the PCI/MSI[-X] handling is uniform across the devices. This
  also allowed to keep the existing PCI/MSI[-X] infrastructure mostly
  unchanged which in turn made it simple to keep the existing
  architecture specific management alive.

  A similar problem was created in the ARM world with support for IP
  block specific message storage. Instead of going all the way to stack
  a IP block specific domain on top of the generic MSI domain this ended
  in a construct which provides a "global" platform MSI domain which
  allows overriding the irq_write_msi_msg() callback per allocation.

  In course of the lengthy discussions we identified other abuse of the
  MSI infrastructure in wireless drivers, NTB etc. where support for
  implementation specific message storage was just mindlessly glued into
  the existing infrastructure. Some of this just works by chance on
  particular platforms but will fail in hard to diagnose ways when the
  driver is used on platforms where the underlying MSI interrupt
  management code does not expect the creative abuse.

  Another shortcoming of today's PCI/MSI-X support is the inability to
  allocate or free individual vectors after the initial enablement of
  MSI-X. This results in an works by chance implementation of VFIO (PCI
  pass-through) where interrupts on the host side are not set up upfront
  to avoid resource exhaustion. They are expanded at run-time when the
  guest actually tries to use them. The way how this is implemented is
  that the host disables MSI-X and then re-enables it with a larger
  number of vectors again. That works by chance because most device
  drivers set up all interrupts before the device actually will utilize
  them. But that's not universally true because some drivers allocate a
  large enough number of vectors but do not utilize them until it's
  actually required, e.g. for acceleration support. But at that point
  other interrupts of the device might be in active use and the MSI-X
  disable/enable dance can just result in losing interrupts and
  therefore hard to diagnose subtle problems.

  Last but not least the "global" PCI/MSI-X domain approach prevents to
  utilize PCI/MSI[-X] and PCI/IMS on the same device due to the fact
  that IMS is not longer providing a uniform storage and configuration
  model.

  The solution to this is to implement the missing step and switch from
  global PCI/MSI domains to per device PCI/MSI domains. The resulting
  hierarchy then looks like this:

  which in turn allows to provide support for multiple domains per
  device:

  This work converts the MSI and PCI/MSI core and the x86 interrupt
  domains to the new model, provides new interfaces for post-enable
  allocation/free of MSI-X interrupts and the base framework for
  PCI/IMS. PCI/IMS has been verified with the work in progress IDXD
  driver.

  There is work in progress to convert ARM over which will replace the
  platform MSI train-wreck. The cleanup of VFIO, NTB and other creative
  "solutions" are in the works as well.

soc: fsl: qe: request pins non-exclusively
Commit 84582f9ed0 ("soc: fsl: qe: Avoid using gpio_to_desc()") changed
qe_pin_request() to request and hold GPIO corresponding to a given pin.
Unfortunately this does not work, as fhci-hcd requests these GPIOs
first, befor calling qe_pin_request() (see
drivers/usb/host/fhci-hcd.c::of_fhci_probe()).
To fix it change qe_pin_request() to request GPIOs non-exclusively, and
free them once the code determines GPIO controller and offset for each
GPIO/pin.

Also reaching deep into gpiolib implementation is not the best idea. We
should either export gpio_chip_hwgpio() or keep converting to the global
gpio numbers space until we fix the driver to implement proper pin
control.
