bpf: Take return from set_memory_rox() into account with bpf_jit_binary_lock_ro()
set_memory_rox() can fail, leaving memory unprotected. Check return and bail out when bpf_jit_binary_lock_ro() returns an error. sparc32: Fix parport build with sparc32
include/asm/parport.h is sparc64 specific.
Rename it to parport_64.h and use the generic version for sparc32.
This fixed all{mod,yes}config build errors like:
parport_pc.c:(.text):undefined-reference-to-ebus_dma_enable
parport_pc.c:(.text):undefined-reference-to-ebus_dma_irq_enable
parport_pc.c:(.text):undefined-reference-to-ebus_dma_register
The errors occur as the sparc32 build references sparc64 symbols.

Fix the following build errors: irq_32.c:258:7: error: array subscript [16, 79] is outside array bounds of 'struct tt_entry[1] irq_32.c:271:14: error: assignment to 'struct tt_entry *' from incompatible pointer type 'struct tt_entry (*)[] trapbase is a pointer to an array of tt_entry, but the code declared it as a pointer so the compiler see a single entry and not an array. Fix this by modifyinf the declaration to be an array, and modify all users to take the address of the first member. Introduce cpu_dcache_is_aliasing() across all architectures
Introduce a generic way to query whether the data cache is virtually aliased on all architectures. Its purpose is to ensure that subsystems which are incompatible with virtually aliased data caches (e.g. FS_DAX) can reliably query this. For data cache aliasing, there are three scenarios dependending on the architecture. Here is a breakdown based on my understanding: A) The data cache is always aliasing: * arc * csky * m68k (note: shared memory mappings are incoherent ? __setup() handlers should return 1 to obsolete_checksetup() in
init/main.c to indicate that the boot option has been handled.
A return of 0 causes the boot option/value to be listed as an Unknown
kernel parameter and added to init's (limited) argument or environment
strings. Also, error return codes don't mean anything to
obsolete_checksetup() -- only non-zero (usually 1) or zero.

A series from Baoquan He cleans up the asm-generic/io.h to remove the ioremap_uc() definition from everything except x86, which still needs it for pre-PAT systems. This series notably contains a patch from Jiaxun Yang that converts MIPS to use asm-generic/io.h like every other architecture does, enabling future cleanups. Some of my own patches fix -Wmissing-prototype warnings in architecture specific code across several architectures. This is now needed as the warning is enabled by default. There are still some remaining warnings in minor platforms, but the series should catch most of the widely used ones make them more consistent with one another. David McKay fixes a bug in __generic_cmpxchg_local() when this is used on 64-bit architectures. This could currently only affect parisc64 and sparc64. mm: Introduce flush_cache_vmap_early()
The pcpu setup when using the page allocator sets up a new vmalloc mapping very early in the boot process, so early that it cannot use the flush_cache_vmap() function which may depend on structures not yet initialized (for example in riscv, we currently send an IPI to flush other cpus TLB). But on some architectures, we must call flush_cache_vmap(): for example, in riscv, some uarchs can cache invalid TLB entries so we need to flush the new established mapping to avoid taking an exception. So fix this by introducing a new function flush_cache_vmap_early() which is called right after setting the new page table entry and before accessing this new mapping. This new function implements a local flush tlb on riscv and is no-op for other architectures (same as today). sparc: Use $(kecho) to announce kernel images being ready
My build test setup compiles allmodconfig all various architectures (arm64 m68k powerpc riscv s390 sparc64 x86_64) using make -s. If there is no warning, the only output is kernel: arch/sparc/boot/image is ready kernel: arch/sparc/boot/zImage is ready from the sparc64 build. Copy the incantation from x86 which is silent when building with make -s and also mentions a version indication. arch/*/io.h: remove ioremap_uc in some architectures
ioremap_uc() is only meaningful on old x86-32 systems with the PAT extension, and on ia64 with its slightly unconventional ioremap() behavior. So remove the ioremap_uc() definition in architecutures other than x86 and ia64. These architectures all have asm-generic/io.h included and will have the default ioremap_uc() definition which returns NULL. This changes the existing behaviour, while no need to worry about any breakage because in the only callsite of ioremap_uc(), code has been adjusted to eliminate the impact. Please see atyfb_setup_generic() of drivers/video/fbdev/aty/atyfb_base.c. If any new invocation of ioremap_uc() need be added, please consider using ioremap() intead or adding a ARCH specific version if necessary. Currently, there is no standard implementation for vdso_install,

crypto: sparc/crc32c - stop using the shash alignmask
As far as I can tell, "crc32c-sparc64" is the only "shash" algorithm in the kernel that sets a nonzero alignmask and actually relies on it to get the crypto API to align the inputs and outputs. This capability is not really useful, though. To unblock removing the support for alignmask from shash_alg, this patch updates crc32c-sparc64 to no longer use the alignmask. This means doing 8-byte alignment of the data when doing an update, using get_unaligned_le32() when setting a non-default initial CRC, and using put_unaligned_le32() to output the final CRC. vgacon, arch/*: remove unused screen_info definitions
A number of architectures either kept the screen_info definition for historical purposes as it used to be required by the generic VT code, or they copied it from another architecture in order to build the VGA console driver in an allmodconfig build. The mips definition is used by some platforms, but the initialization on jazz is not needed. Now that vgacon no longer builds on these architectures, remove the stale definitions and initializations. fbdev: Replace fb_pgprotect() with pgprot_framebuffer()
Rename the fbdev mmap helper fb_pgprotect() to pgprot_framebuffer(). The helper sets VMA page-access flags for framebuffers in device I/O memory. Also clean up the helper's parameters and return value. Instead of the VMA instance, pass the individial parameters separately: existing page-access flags, the VMAs start and end addresses and the offset in the underlying device memory rsp file. Return the new page-access flags. mm: hugetlb: add huge page size param to set_huge_pte_at()
Patch series "Fix set_huge_pte_at() panic on arm64", v2. This series fixes a bug in arm64's implementation of set_huge_pte_at(), which can result in an unprivileged user causing a kernel panic. The problem was triggered when running the new uffd poison mm selftest for HUGETLB memory. This test (and the uffd poison feature) was merged for v6.5-rc7. Ideally, I'd like to get this fix in for v6.6 and I've cc'ed stable (correctly this time) to get it backported to v6.5, where the issue first showed up. Description of Bug ================== arm64's huge pte implementation supports multiple huge page sizes, some of which are implemented in the page table with multiple contiguous entries. So set_huge_pte_at() needs to work out how big the logical pte is, so that it can also work out how many physical ptes (or pmds) need to be written. It previously did this by grabbing the folio out of the pte and querying its size. However, there are cases when the pte being set is actually a swap entry. But this also used to work fine, because for huge ptes, we only ever saw migration entries and hwpoison entries. And both of these types of swap entries have a PFN embedded, so the code would grab that and everything still worked out. But over time, more calls to set_huge_pte_at() have been added that set swap entry types that do not embed a PFN. And this causes the code to go bang. futex: Add sys_futex_requeue()
Finish off the 'simple' futex2 syscall group by adding sys_futex_requeue(). Unlike sys_futex_{wait,wake}() its arguments are too numerous to fit into a regular syscall. As such, use struct futex_waitv to pass the 'source' and 'destination' futexes to the syscall. This syscall implements what was previously known as FUTEX_CMP_REQUEUE and uses {val, uaddr, flags} for source and {uaddr, flags} for destination. This design explicitly allows requeueing between different types of futex by having a different flags word per uaddr. sparc: Explicitly include correct DT includes
The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate of_platform_bus_type before it was merged into the regular platform bus. As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they "temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to explicitly include the correct includes. This is already possible with fchownat() so there's no reason to not also support it for fchmodat2(). The implementation is simple and comes with selftests. Implementation of the system call and wiring up the system call are done as separate patches even though they could arguably be one patch. nmi_backtrace: allow excluding an arbitrary CPU
The APIs that allow backtracing across CPUs have always had a way to exclude the current CPU. This convenience means callers didn't need to find a place to allocate a CPU mask just to handle the common case. Let's extend the API to take a CPU ID to exclude instead of just a boolean. This isn't any more complex for the API to handle and allows the hardlockup detector to exclude a different CPU (the one it already did a trace for) without needing to find space for a CPU mask. Arguably, this new API also encourages safer behavior. Specifically if the caller wants to avoid tracing the current CPU (maybe because they already traced the current CPU) this makes it more obvious to the caller that they need to make sure that the current CPU ID can't change. sparc: add pte_free_defer() for pte_t *pgtable_t
Add sparc-specific pte_free_defer(), to call pte_free() via call_rcu(). pte_free_defer() will be called inside khugepaged's retract_page_tables() loop, where allocating extra memory cannot be relied upon. This precedes the generic version to avoid build breakage from incompatible pgtable_t. sparc32 supports pagetables sharing a page, but does not support THP; sparc64 supports THP, but does not support pagetables sharing a page. So the sparc-specific pte_free_defer() is as simple as the generic one, except for converting between pte_t *pgtable_t and struct page *.
