eb13959e2d bu27034: ROHM BU27034ANUC correct lux calculation
The ROHM BU27034NUC was cancelled and BU27034ANUC is replacing this
sensor. The lux computation based on the data from a BU27034ANUC is
different from the computation for the data from an old BU27034NUC.

Fix the lux computation.

dd77c0ff99 bu27034: ROHM BU27034NUC to BU27034ANUC
The ROHM BU27034NUC was cancelled and BU27034ANUC is replacing this
sensor. These senors aren't compatible from the software point of view.

According to ROHM, the BU27034NUC was never mass-produced. Hence dropping
the BU27034NUC support and using this driver to support BU27034ANUC
should not be a problem to users. We however need to ensure than people
who use old kernel with the old BU27034NUC driver don't get the old
driver probed for the new sensor.

Prepare to use the BU27034NUC driver to support the new BU27034ANUC and
change the compatible to prevent probing the old driver with the new
sensor.

d2651a43f3 iio: chemical: bme680: Refactorize reading functions
The reading of the pressure and humidity value, requires an update of the
t_fine variable which happens by reading the temperature value.

So the bme680_read_{press/humid}() functions of the above sensors are
internally calling the equivalent bme680_read_temp() function in order to
update the t_fine value. By just looking at the code this relation is a
bit hidden and is not easy to understand why those channels are not
independent.

This commit tries to clear these thing a bit by splitting the
bme680_{read/compensate}_{temp/press/humid}() to the following:

i. bme680_read_{temp/press/humid}_adc(): read the raw value from the
sensor.

ii. bme680_calc_t_fine(): calculate the t_fine variable.

iii. bme680_get_t_fine(): get the t_fine variable.

iv. bme680_compensate_{temp/press/humid}(): compensate the adc values and
return the calculated value.

v. bme680_read_{temp/press/humid}(): combine calls of the aforementioned
functions to return the requested value.

ed4bb53c46 iio: chemical: bme680: Move forced mode setup in ->read_raw()
Whenever the sensor is set to forced mode, a TPHG cycle is triggered and
the values of temperature, pressure, humidity and gas become ready to be
read.

The setup of the forced mode to trigger measurements was located inside
the read_{temp/gas}() functions. This was not posing a functional problem
since read_{humid/press}() are internally calling read_temp() so the
forced mode is set through this call.

This is not very clear and it is kind of hidden that regardless of the
measurement, the setup of the forced mode needs to happen before any
measurement.

38605f704e iio: chemical: bme680: Remove redundant gas configuration
There is no need to explicitly configure the gas measurement registers
every time a gas measurement takes place. These are initial configurations
which are written in the beginning and they are not changed throughout
the lifetime of the driver.

If in the future, the device starts to support multiple configuration
profiles with variable heater duration and heater temperature, then they
could become members of the ->read_avail().

Modify the startup procedure to reflect the procedure of the Bosch BME68x
Sensor API. The initial readings and configuration of the sensor need to
happen in the following order:

1) Read calibration data [1,2]
2) Chip general configuration [3]
3) Gas configuration [4]

After the chip configuration it is necessary to ensure that the sensor is
in sleeping mode, in order to apply the gas configuration settings [5].

Also, after the soft reset, it is advised to wait for 5ms [6].

Add mutexes in the {read/write}_raw() functions of the device to guard the
read/write of data from/to the device. This is necessary because for any
operation other than temperature, multiple reads need to take place from
the device. Even though regmap has a locking by itself, it won't protect us
from multiple applications trying to read at the same time temperature and
pressure since the pressure reading includes an internal temperature
reading and there is nothing to ensure that this temperature+pressure
reading will happen sequentially without any other operation interfering
in the meantime.

90826e0846 iio: adc: ad7606: remove frstdata check for serial mode
The current implementation attempts to recover from an eventual glitch
in the clock by checking frstdata state after reading the first
channel's sample: If frstdata is low, it will reset the chip and
return -EIO.

This will only work in parallel mode, where frstdata pin is set low
after the 2nd sample read starts.

For the serial mode, according to the datasheet, "The FRSTDATA output
returns to a logic low following the 16th SCLK falling edge.", thus
after the Xth pulse, X being the number of bits in a sample, the check
will always be true, and the driver will not work at all in serial
mode if frstdata(optional) is defined in the devicetree as it will
reset the chip, and return -EIO every time read_sample is called.

Hence, this check must be removed for serial mode.

9722c3b66e of: remove internal arguments from of_property_for_each_u32()
The of_property_for_each_u32() macro needs five parameters, two of which
are primarily meant as internal variables for the macro itself (in the
for() clause). Yet these two parameters are used by a few drivers, and this
can be considered misuse or at least bad practice.

Now that the kernel uses C11 to build, these two parameters can be avoided
by declaring them internally, thus changing this pattern:

  struct property *prop;
  const __be32 *p;
  u32 val;

  of_property_for_each_u32(np, "xyz", prop, p, val) { ... }

to this:

  u32 val;

  of_property_for_each_u32(np, "xyz", val) { ... }

However two variables cannot be declared in the for clause even with C11,
so declare one struct that contain the two variables we actually need. As
the variables inside this struct are not meant to be used by users of this
macro, give the struct instance the noticeable name "_it" so it is visible
during code reviews, helping to avoid new code to use it directly.

Most usages are trivially converted as they do not use those two
parameters, as expected. The non-trivial cases are:

 - drivers/clk/clk.c, of_clk_get_parent_name(): easily doable anyway
 - drivers/clk/clk-si5351.c, si5351_dt_parse(): this is more complex as the
   checks had to be replicated in a different way, making code more verbose
   and somewhat uglier, but I refrained from a full rework to keep as much
   of the original code untouched having no hardware to test my changes

All the changes have been build tested. The few for which I have the
hardware have been runtime-tested too.

Here is the "big" set of char/misc and other driver subsystem changes
 for 6.11-rc1. Nothing major in here, just loads of new drivers and
 updates.  Included in here are:
   - IIO api updates and new drivers added
   - wait_interruptable_timeout() api cleanups for some drivers
   - MODULE_DESCRIPTION() additions for loads of drivers
   - parport out-of-bounds fix
   - interconnect driver updates and additions
   - mhi driver updates and additions
   - w1 driver fixes
   - binder speedups and fixes
   - eeprom driver updates
   - coresight driver updates
   - counter driver update
   - new misc driver additions
   - other minor api updates

 All of these, EXCEPT for the final Kconfig build fix for 32bit systems,
 have been in linux-next for a while with no reported issues. The
 Kconfig fixup went in 29 hours ago, so might have missed the latest
 linux-next, but was acked by everyone involved.

3e26d9f08f iio: core: Add new DMABUF interface infrastructure
Add the necessary infrastructure to the IIO core to support a new
optional DMABUF based interface.

With this new interface, DMABUF objects (externally created) can be
attached to a IIO buffer, and subsequently used for data transfer.

A userspace application can then use this interface to share DMABUF
objects between several interfaces, allowing it to transfer data in a
zero-copy fashion, for instance between IIO and the USB stack.

The userspace application can also memory-map the DMABUF objects, and
access the sample data directly. The advantage of doing this vs. the
read() interface is that it avoids an extra copy of the data between the
kernel and userspace. This is particularly userful for high-speed
devices which produce several megabytes or even gigabytes of data per
second.

As part of the interface, 3 new IOCTLs have been added:

IIO_BUFFER_DMABUF_ATTACH_IOCTL(int fd):
 Attach the DMABUF object identified by the given file descriptor to the
 buffer.

IIO_BUFFER_DMABUF_DETACH_IOCTL(int fd):
 Detach the DMABUF object identified by the given file descriptor from
 the buffer. Note that closing the IIO buffer's file descriptor will
 automatically detach all previously attached DMABUF objects.

IIO_BUFFER_DMABUF_ENQUEUE_IOCTL(struct iio_dmabuf *):
 Request a data transfer to/from the given DMABUF object. Its file
 descriptor, as well as the transfer size and flags are provided in the
 "iio_dmabuf" structure.

These three IOCTLs have to be performed on the IIO buffer's file
descriptor, obtained using the IIO_BUFFER_GET_FD_IOCTL() ioctl.

d9b329a971 iio: dac: adi-axi-dac: improve probe() error messaging
The current error handling for calls such as devm_clk_get_enabled() in
the adi-axi-dac probe() function means that, if a property such as
'clocks' (for example) is not present in the devicetree when booting a
kernel with the driver enabled, the resulting error message will be
vague, e.g.:

|adi_axi_dac 44a00000.dac: probe with driver adi_axi_dac failed with error -2

Change the devm_clk_get_enabled(), devm_regmap_init_mmio(), and
devm_iio_backend_register() checks to use dev_err_probe() with some
context for easier debugging.

After the change:

|adi_axi_dac 44a00000.dac: error -ENOENT: failed to get clock
|adi_axi_dac 44a00000.dac: probe with driver adi_axi_dac failed with error -2

13d12e3ad1 iio: adc: ad7173: Add support for AD411x devices
Add support for AD4111/AD4112/AD4114/AD4115/AD4116.

The AD411X family encompasses a series of low power, low noise, 24-bit,
sigma-delta analog-to-digital converters that offer a versatile range of
specifications.

This family of ADCs integrates an analog front end suitable for processing
both fully differential and single-ended, bipolar voltage inputs
addressing a wide array of industrial and instrumentation requirements.

- All ADCs have inputs with a precision voltage divider with a division
  ratio of 10.
- AD4116 has 5 low level inputs without a voltage divider.
- AD4111 and AD4112 support current inputs (0 mA to 20 mA) using a 50ohm
  shunt resistor.

40c0f07528 iio: adc: adi-axi-adc: improve probe() error messaging
The current error handling for calls such as devm_clk_get_enabled() in
the adi-axi-adc probe() function means that, if a property such as
'clocks' (for example) is not present in the devicetree when booting a
kernel with the driver enabled, the resulting error message will be
vague, e.g.:

|adi_axi_adc 44a00000.backend: probe with driver adi_axi_adc failed with error -2

Change the devm_clk_get_enabled(), devm_regmap_init_mmio(), and
devm_iio_backend_register() checks to use dev_err_probe() with some
context for easier debugging.

After the change:

|adi_axi_adc 44a00000.backend: error -ENOENT: failed to get clock
|adi_axi_adc 44a00000.backend: probe with driver adi_axi_adc failed with error -2

Add channel attributes "power_mode" and "power_mode_available" for

dea750f801 iio: temperature: mcp9600: add threshold events support
The device has four programmable temperature alert outputs which can be
used to monitor hot or cold-junction temperatures and detect falling and

hysteresis. Each alert can be individually configured by setting following
options in the associated alert configuration register:
- monitor hot or cold junction temperature
- monitor rising or falling temperature
- set comparator or interrupt mode
- set output polarity
- enable alert

This patch binds alert outputs to iio events:
- alert1: hot junction, rising temperature
- alert2: hot junction, falling temperature
- alert3: cold junction, rising temperature
- alert4: cold junction, falling temperature

All outputs are set in comparator mode and polarity depends on interrupt

4241665e6e iio: chemical: bme680: Fix sensor data read operation
A read operation is happening as follows:

a) Set sensor to forced mode
b) Sensor measures values and update data registers and sleeps again
c) Read data registers

In the current implementation the read operation happens immediately
after the sensor is set to forced mode so the sensor does not have
the time to update properly the registers. This leads to the following
2 problems:

1) The first ever value which is read by the register is always wrong
2) Every read operation, puts the register into forced mode and reads
the data that were calculated in the previous conversion.

This behaviour was tested in 2 ways:

1) The internal meas_status_0 register was read before and after every
read operation in order to verify that the data were ready even before
the register was set to forced mode and also to check that after the
forced mode was set the new data were not yet ready.

2) Physically changing the temperature and measuring the temperature

This commit adds the waiting time in between the set of the forced mode
and the read of the data. The function is taken from the Bosch BME68x
Sensor API [1].

9547d6a4c6 iio: humidity: hdc3020: fix hysteresis representation
According to the ABI docs hysteresis values are represented as offsets to
threshold values. Current implementation represents hysteresis values as
absolute values which is wrong. Nevertheless the device stores them as
absolute values and the datasheet refers to them as clear thresholds. Fix
the reading and writing of hysteresis values by including thresholds into
calculations. Hysteresis values that result in threshold clear values
that are out of limits will be truncated.

To check that the threshold clear values are correct, registers are read
out using i2ctransfer and the corresponding temperature and relative
humidity thresholds are calculated using the formulas in the datasheet.

15b0801285 iio: adc: ad7380: add oversampling support
ad7380x(-4) parts are able to do oversampling to increase accuracy.

This chips supports a normal oversampling mode and a rolling mode and
also allows enabling and disabling extra resolution bits when
oversampling is enabled.

We have intentionally left out the rolling mode for now as there is not
a compelling use case for it. User can process a captured data buffer
to get the same effect.

We are also currently not supporting changing the oversampling mode
independently of the resolution bits. The resolution boost feature
can only be enabled when oversampling is enabled and oversampling is
not as useful without the resolution boost. So for now we consider the
features tightly coupled. When oversampling is enabled, the resolution
boost is enabled and when oversampling is disabled, the resolution
boost is disabled.

Since the resolution boost feature causes 16-bit chips to now have
18-bit data which means the storagebits has to change from 16 to 32
bits, we use the new ext_scan_type feature to allow changing the
scan_type at runtime based on if the resolution boost is enabled or
not.

SPI message optimization has to be moved since now some of the xfer
parameters change based on the resolution boost mode.

A few neighboring comments are also fixed up while we are touching this
code.

d8f2bb5084 iio: add support for multiple scan types per channel
This adds new fields to the iio_channel structure to support multiple
scan types per channel. This is useful for devices that support multiple
resolution modes or other modes that require different data formats of
the raw data.

To make use of this, drivers need to implement the new callback
get_current_scan_type() to resolve the scan type for a given channel
based on the current state of the driver. There is a new scan_type_ext
field in the iio_channel structure that should be used to store the
scan types for any channel that has more than one. There is also a new
flag has_ext_scan_type that acts as a type discriminator for the
scan_type/ext_scan_type union. A union is used so that we don't grow
the size of the iio_channel structure and also makes it clear that
scan_type and ext_scan_type are mutually exclusive.

The buffer code is the only code in the IIO core code that is using the
scan_type field. This patch updates the buffer code to use the new
iio_channel_validate_scan_type() function to ensure it is returning the
correct scan type for the current state of the device when reading the
sysfs attributes. The buffer validation code is also update to validate
any additional scan types that are set in the scan_type_ext field. Part
of that code is refactored to a new function to avoid duplication.

Some userspace tools may need to be updated to re-read the scan type
after writing any other attribute. During testing, we noticed that we
had to restart iiod to get it to re-read the scan type after enabling
oversampling on the ad7380 driver.

The current driver supports only parts with 2 channels.
In order to prepare the support of new compatible ADCs with more
channels, this commit:
  - defines MAX_NUM_CHANNEL to specify the maximum number of
    channels currently supported by the driver
  - adds available_scan_mask member in ad7380_chip_info structure
  - fixes spi xfer struct len depending on number of channels
  - fixes scan_data.raw buffer size to handle more channels
  - adds a timing specifications structure in ad7380_chip_info structure

182bc496dc iio: adc: ad7173: Fix sampling frequency setting
This patch fixes two issues regarding the sampling frequency setting:
-The attribute was set as per device, not per channel. As such, when
 setting the sampling frequency, the configuration was always done for
 the slot 0, and the correct configuration was applied on the next
 channel configuration call by the LRU mechanism.
-The LRU implementation does not take into account external settings of
 the slot registers. When setting the sampling frequency directly to a
 slot register in write_raw(), there is no guarantee that other channels
 were not also using that slot and now incorrectly retain their config
 as live.

Set the sampling frequency attribute as separate in the channel templates.
Do not set the sampling directly to the slot register in write_raw(),
just mark the config as not live and let the LRU mechanism handle it.
As the reg variable is no longer used, remove it.

In case of error in the bmi323_trigger_handler() function, the

279428df88 iio: dac: ad5592r: fix temperature channel scaling value
The scale value for the temperature channel is (assuming Vref=2.5 and
the datasheet):

    376.7897513

When calculating both val and val2 for the temperature scale we
use (3767897513/25) and multiply it by Vref (here I assume 2500mV) to
obtain:

  2500 * (3767897513/25) ==> 376789751300

Finally we divide with remainder by 10^9 to get:

    val = 376
    val2 = 789751300

However, we return IIO_VAL_INT_PLUS_MICRO (should have been NANO) as
the scale type. So when converting the raw temperature value to the
'processed' temperature value we will get (assuming raw=810,
offset=-753):

    processed = (raw + offset) * scale_val
              = (810 + -753) * 376
	      = 21432

    processed += div((raw + offset) * scale_val2, 10^6)
              += div((810 + -753) * 789751300, 10^6)
	      += 45015
    ==> 66447
    ==> 66.4 Celcius

instead of the expected 21.5 Celsius.

Fix this issue by changing IIO_VAL_INT_PLUS_MICRO to
IIO_VAL_INT_PLUS_NANO.
