Like on other Acer devices, the wifi, bluetooth and touchpad on/off toggle
hotkeys on the Acer AO532 do not send any events when the dritek extensions
are not enabled.
Add a quirk to enable the dritek extensions on this netbook model.

A lot of modern Clevo barebones have touchpad and/or keyboard issues after
suspend fixable with nomux + reset + noloop + nopnp. Luckily, none of them
have an external PS/2 port so this can safely be set for all of them.
I'm not entirely sure if every device listed really needs all four quirks,
but after testing and production use. No negative effects could be
observed when setting all four.

but after testing and production use. No negative effects could be
observed when setting all four.
The list is quite massive as neither the TUXEDO nor the Clevo dmi strings
have been very consistent historically. I tried to keep the list as short
as possible without risking on missing an affected device.
This is revision 3. The Clevo N150CU barebone is still removed as it might
have problems with the fix and needs further investigations. The
SchenkerTechnologiesGmbH System-/Board-Vendor string variations are
added. This is now based in the quirk table refactor. This now also
includes the additional noaux flag for the NS7xMU.

Merge i8042 quirk tables to reduce code duplication for devices that need
more than one quirk. Before every quirk had its own table with devices
needing that quirk. If a new quirk needed to be added a new table had to
be created. When a device needed multiple quirks, it appeared in multiple
tables. Now only one table called i8042_dmi_quirk_table exists. In it every
device has one entry and required quirks are coded in the .driver_data
field of the struct dmi_system_id used by this table. Multiple quirks for
one device can be applied by bitwise-or of the new SERIO_QUIRK_* defines.
Also align quirkable options with command line parameters and make vendor
wide quirks per device overwriteable on a per device basis. The first match
is honored while following matches are ignored. So when a vendor wide quirk
is defined in the table, a device can inserted before and therefore
ignoring the vendor wide define.

The PS/2 bus defines the data and clock line be open drain, therefore
for both enforce the particular GPIO flags in the driver.
Without enforcing to flag at least the clock gpio as open drain we run

Sending the data before processing the stop bit from the device already
saves the data of the current xfer in case the stop bit is missed.
However, when TX xfers are enabled this introduces a race condition when
a peripheral driver using the bus immediately requests a TX xfer from IRQ
context.
Therefore the data must be send after receiving the stop bit, although
it is possible the data is lost when missing the stop bit.

Actually, there's no extra clock pulse to wait for.
The assumption of an extra clock pulse was mistakenly derived from the
fact that by the time this driver was introduced the GPIO controller of
the test machine (bcm2835) generated spurious interrupts.
Since now spurious interrupts are handled properly this can and must be
removed in order to make TX xfers work properly.
While at it, remove duplicate gpiod_direction_input(). The data gpio
must already be configured to act as input when receiving the ACK bit.
This patch is tested with the original hardware (peripherals and board)
the driver was developed on.

Using jiffies for the IRQ timekeeping is not sufficient for two reasons:
(1) Usually jiffies have a resolution of 1ms to 10ms. The IRQ intervals
based on the clock frequency of PS2 protocol specification (10kHz -
16.7kHz) are between ~60us and 100us only. Therefore only those IRQ
intervals can be detected which are either at the end of a transfer
or are overly delayed. While this is sufficient in most cases, since
we have quite a lot of ways to detect faulty transfers, it can
produce false positives in rare cases: When the jiffies value
changes right between two interrupt that are in time, we wrongly
assume that we missed one or more clock cycles.
(2) Some gpio controllers (e.g. the one in the bcm283x chips) may generate
spurious IRQs when processing interrupts in the frequency given by PS2
devices.
Both issues can be fixed by using ktime resolution for IRQ timekeeping.
However, it is still possible to miss clock cycles without detecting
them. When the PS2 device generates the falling edge of the clock signal
we have between ~30us and 50us to sample the data line, because after
this time we reach the next rising edge at which the device changes the
data signal already. But, the only thing we can detect is whether the
IRQ interval is within the given period. Therefore it is possible to
have an IRQ latency greater than ~30us to 50us, sample the wrong bit on
the data line and still be on time with the next IRQ. However, this can
only happen when within a given transfer the IRQ latency increases
slowly.

The ASUS UM325UA suffers from the same issue as the ASUS UX425UA, which
is a very similar laptop. The i8042 device is not usable immediately

We've got a bug report about the non-working keyboard on ASUS ZenBook
UX425UA. It seems that the PS/2 device isn't ready immediately at
boot but takes some seconds to get ready. Until now, the only
workaround is to defer the probe, but it's available only when the
driver is a module. However, many distros, including openSUSE as in
the original report, build the PS/2 input drivers into kernel, hence
it won't work easily.
This patch adds the support for the deferred probe for i8042 stuff as
a workaround of the problem above. When the deferred probe mode is
enabled and the device couldn't be probed, it'll be repeated with the
standard deferred probe mechanism.
The deferred probe mode is enabled either via the new option
i8042.probe_defer or via the quirk table entry. As of this patch, the
quirk table contains only ASUS ZenBook UX425UA.
The deferred probe part is based on Fabio's initial work.

The caller of this function (parisc_driver_remove() in
arch/parisc/kernel/drivers.c) ignores the return value, so better don't
return any value at all to not wake wrong expectations in driver authors.
The only function that could return a non-zero value before was
ipmi_parisc_remove() which returns the return value of
ipmi_si_remove_by_dev(). Make this function return void, too, as for all
other callers the value is ignored, too.
Also fold in a small checkpatch fix for:
WARNING: Unnecessary space before function pointer arguments

The driver core ignores the return value of this callback because there
is only little it can do when a device disappears.
This is the final bit of a long lasting cleanup quest where several
buses were converted to also return void from their remove callback.
Additionally some resource leaks were fixed that were caused by drivers
returning an error code in the expectation that the driver won't go
away.
With struct bus_type::remove returning void it's prevented that newly
implemented buses return an ignored error code and so don't anticipate
wrong expectations for driver authors.

There is no reason to pass the ldisc number to tty_register_ldisc
separately. Just set it in the already defined tty_ldisc_ops in all the
ldiscs.
This simplifies tty_register_ldisc a bit too (no need to set the num
member there).

After commit 77b425399f ("Input: i8042 - use chassis info to skip
selftest on Asus laptops"), all modern Asus laptops have the i8042
selftest disabled. It has done by using chassys type "10" (laptop).
The Asus Zenbook Flip suffers from similar suspend/resume issues, but
it _sometimes_ work and sometimes it doesn't. Setting noselftest makes
it work reliably. In this case, we need to add chassis type "31"
(convertible) in order to avoid selftest in this device.

All amba drivers return 0 in their remove callback. Together with the
driver core ignoring the return value anyhow, it doesn't make sense to
return a value here.
Change the remove prototype to return void, which makes it explicit that
returning an error value doesn't work as expected. This simplifies changing
the core remove callback to return void, too.

The driver core ignores the return value of struct device_driver::remove
because there is only little that can be done. To simplify the quest to
make this function return void, let struct sa1111_driver::remove return
void, too. All users already unconditionally return 0, this commit makes
it obvious that returning an error code is a bad idea and ensures future
users behave accordingly.

The tty line discipline .read() function was passed the final user
pointer destination as an argument, which doesn't match the 'write()'
function, and makes it very inconvenient to do a splice method for
ttys.
This is a conversion to use a kernel buffer instead.
NOTE! It does this by passing the tty line discipline ->read() function
an additional "cookie" to fill in, and an offset into the cookie data.
The line discipline can fill in the cookie data with its own private
information, and then the reader will repeat the read until either the
cookie is cleared or it runs out of data.
The only real user of this is N_HDLC, which can use this to handle big
packets, even if the kernel buffer is smaller than the whole packet.

The i8042 module exports several symbols which may be used by other
modules.
Before this commit it would refuse to load (when built as a module itself)
on systems without an i8042 controller.
This is a problem specifically for the asus-nb-wmi module. Many Asus
laptops support the Asus WMI interface. Some of them have an i8042
controller and need to use i8042_install_filter() to filter some kbd
events. Other models do not have an i8042 controller (e.g. they use an
USB attached kbd).
Before this commit the asus-nb-wmi driver could not be loaded on Asus
models without an i8042 controller, when the i8042 code was built as
a module (as Arch Linux does) because the module_init function of the
i8042 module would fail with -ENODEV and thus the i8042_install_filter
symbol could not be loaded.
This commit fixes this by exiting from module_init with a return code
of 0 if no controller is found. It also adds a i8042_present bool to
make the module_exit function a no-op in this case and also adds a
check for i8042_present to the exported i8042_command function.
The latter i8042_present check should not really be necessary because
when builtin that function can already be used on systems without
an i8042 controller, but better safe then sorry.

When starting a HP machine with HIL driver but without an HIL keyboard
or HIL mouse attached, it may happen that data written to the HIL loop
gets stuck (e.g. because the transaction queue is full). Usually one
will then have to reboot the machine because all you see is and endless
output of:
Transaction add failed: transaction already queued?
In the higher layers hp_sdc_enqueue_transaction() is called to queued up
a HIL packet. This function returns an error code, and this patch adds
the necessary checks for this return code and disables the HIL driver if
further packets can't be sent.
Tested on a HP 730 and a HP 715/64 machine.

For a Hyper-V vmbus, the size of the ringbuffer has two requirements:
1) it has to take one PAGE_SIZE for the header
2) it has to be PAGE_SIZE aligned so that double-mapping can work
VMBUS_RING_SIZE() could calculate a correct ringbuffer size which
fulfills both requirements, therefore use it to make sure vmbus work
when PAGE_SIZE != HV_HYP_PAGE_SIZE (4K).
Note that since the argument for VMBUS_RING_SIZE() is the size of
payload (data part), so it will be minus 4k (the size of header when
PAGE_SIZE = 4k) than the original value to keep the ringbuffer total
size unchanged when PAGE_SIZE = 4k.

The unicore32 port do not seem maintained for a long time now, there
is no upstream toolchain that can create unicore32 binaries and all

compilers that were available are not supported by the kernel anymore.

"I have stopped building unicore32 images since v4.19 since there is

surprised that support for it has not been removed from the kernel"
However, it's worth pointing out two things:
- Guan Xuetao is still listed as maintainer and asked for the port to
be kept around the last time Arnd suggested removing it two years
ago. He promised that there would be compiler sources (presumably
llvm), but has not made those available since.
- https://github.com/gxt has patches to linux-4.9 and qemu-2.7, both
released in 2016, with patches dated early 2019. These patches
mainly restore a syscall ABI that was never part of mainline Linux
but apparently used in production. qemu-2.8 removed support for
that ABI and newer kernels (4.19+) can no longer be built with the
old toolchain, so apparently there will not be any future updates
to that git tree"

Using uninitialized_var() is dangerous as it papers over real bugs[1]
(or can in the future), and suppresses unrelated compiler warnings
(e.g. "unused variable"). If the compiler thinks it is uninitialized,
either simply initialize the variable or make compiler changes.
In preparation for removing[2] the[3] macro[4], remove all remaining
needless uses with the following script:

Presumably since nobody has noticed this for the last 12 years, there is
not anyone actually trying to use this driver so we can just remove this
special walnut code and use the generic header so it builds for all

The Acer Aspire 5738z has a button to disable (and re-enable) the
touchpad next to the touchpad.
When this button is pressed a LED underneath indicates that the touchpad
is disabled (and an event is send to userspace and GNOME shows its
touchpad enabled / disable OSD thingie).
So far so good, but after re-enabling the touchpad it no longer works.
The laptop does not have an external ps2 port, so mux mode is not needed
and disabling mux mode fixes the touchpad no longer working after toggling
it off and back on again, so lets add this laptop model to the nomux list.

We don't know when the device will be added with device_add() in
serio_add_port() because serio_add_port() is called from a workqueue
that this driver schedules by calling serio_register_port(). The best we
can know is that the device will definitely not have been added yet when
the start callback is called on the serio device.
While it hasn't been shown to be a problem, proactively move the wakeup
enabling calls to the start hook so that we don't race with the
workqueue calling device_add(). This will avoid racy situations where
code tries to add wakeup sysfs attributes for this device from
dpm_sysfs_add() but the path in device_set_wakeup_capable() has already
done so.

platform_get_irq() prints an error message itself when something goes

The name of pm_suspend_via_s2idle() is confusing, as it doesn't
reflect the purpose of the function precisely enough and it is
very similar to pm_suspend_via_firmware(), which has a different
purpose, so rename it as pm_suspend_default_s2idle() and update
its only caller, i8042_register_ports(), accordingly.

Add SPDX license identifiers to all files which:
- Have no license information of any form
- Have MODULE_LICENCE("GPL*") inside which was used in the initial
scan/conversion to ignore the file
These files fall under the project license, GPL v2 only. The resulting SPDX
license identifier is:

The OLPC XO-1.75 and XO-4 are ARM-based laptops, using the Marvell
MMP architecture, so don't present this driver on other architectures
except for build-testing purposes.

Instead of signalling wakeup directly from i8042, let psmouse and atkbd
drivers execute basic protocol handling and only then signal wakeup
condition. This solves the issue where we increment wakeup counter
simply because we are getting responses from keyboard/mouse to the
commands we ourselves send to them as part of suspend transition.

Convert string compares of DT node names to use of_node_name_eq helper
instead. For the root node on SUN DT, we need to retrieve the 'name'
property as it is the rare case where the 'name' property and node name
differ. With both changes, it removes direct access to the node name
pointer.
While at it, convert the open coded loop to use for_each_child_of_node().

Turns out this is not such a great idea. Once the SP clock is disabled,
it's not sufficient to just enable in order to bring the SP core back up.
It seems that the kernel has no business managing this clock. Just let
the firmware keep it enabled.
