d56b0b2ab1 usb: xhci: ensure skipped isoc TDs are returned when isoc ring is stopped
Missed service event tells the driver that the hardware wasn't able to
process some queued isoc TDs in their right time slots, and some TDs will
be skipped. The driver sets a 'skip' flag to indicate that the next
transfer event after this event will point to some future TD instead of
the next queued TD. Once the driver receives the next event, it will skip
and give back all those hardware skipped TDs.

However, should this subsequent event be a stop endpoint which does not
point to the next pending TD, the driver fails to return the skipped TDs.
Instead, it loops for a period before outputting an erroneous message.

Fix this by repositioning the 'stop endpoint' check to follow the isoc
skip check, ensuring the skipped TDs are properly returned.

21b224d747 xhci: rework xhci internal endpoint halt state detection.
When xhci_requires_manual_halt_cleanup() was written it wasn't clear
that the xhci internal endpoint halt state always needs to be cleared
with a reset endpoint command. Functional stall cases additionally halt
the device side endpoint which requires class driver to clear the device
side halt with a CLEAR_FEATURE(ENDPOINT_HALT) request as well.

Clean up, rename, and make sure the new function always return true
when internal endpoint state is halted, including stall cases.

bde66d2dc4 usb: xhci: remove obsolete sanity check debug messages
Remove debug messages that served as sanity checks during the initial
implementation phase of underrun/overrun completion codes. These checks
are now unnecessary.

Instead, improve the default debug messages for underrun/overrun events,
so that they are consistent with the reset of the completion codes.

2acd0c2223 usb: xhci: move untargeted transfer event handling to a separate function
Move handling transfer events without a target transfer TRB into
handle_transferless_tx_event(), this type of event does not utilize the
rest of handle_tx_event() and as a result it's better to separate it
into a dedicated function.

Additionally, this change reduces handle_tx_event()'s size and makes it
more readable.

removes the second xhci_err() message for untargeted and unexpected
event completion types]

bbdd82c752 usb: xhci: move all segment re-numbering to xhci_link_rings()
This is a preparation patch for switching from custom segment list
handling to using list.h functions.

Contain all segment re-numbering in xhci_link_rings() which links two
segments lists together, and performs all necessary adjustments for
them to fit together.

No need to send segment number to xhci_alloc_segments_for_ring()
as a parameter after this.

7476a2215c usb: xhci: move link chain bit quirk checks into one helper function.
Older 0.95 xHCI hosts and some other specific newer hosts require the
chain bit to be set for Link TRBs even if the link TRB is not in the
middle of a transfer descriptor (TD).

move the checks for all those cases  into one xhci_link_chain_quirk()
function to clean up and avoid code duplication.

No functional changes.

de3edd47a1 xhci: dbc: Allow users to modify DbC poll interval via sysfs
xhci DbC driver polls the host controller for DbC events at a reduced
rate when DbC is enabled but there are no active data transfers.

Allow users to modify this reduced poll interval via dbc_poll_interval_ms
sysfs entry. Unit is milliseconds and accepted range is 0 to 5000.
Max interval of 5000 ms is selected as it matches the common 5 second
timeout used in usb stack.
Default value is 64 milliseconds.

A long interval is useful when users know there won't be any activity
on systems connected via DbC for long periods, and want to avoid
battery drainage due to unnecessary CPU usage.

Example being Android Debugger (ADB) usage over DbC on ChromeOS systems
running Android Runtime.

7b59c0362a xhci: Set correct transferred length for cancelled isoc transfers
The transferred length is incorrectly zeroed for cancelled isoc
transfer TDs when the transfer ring stops on a cancelled TD with
a 'Stop - Length Invalid' completion code.

Length was always set to zero in these cases even if it should be
set to the sum of the TRB transfer block lengths up to
the TRB the ring stopped on, _excluding_ the one stopped on.

No issues reported due to this isoc case. Found while inspecting
related case in bulk transfer 'Stop - Length Invalid' handling.

Change this so that 'Stop - Length Invalid' transfer completion
cases always sum up TRB lengths instead of report a zero length.

bc162403e3 xhci: Add a quirk for writing ERST in high-low order
This quirk is for the controller that has a limitation in supporting
separate ERSTBA_HI and ERSTBA_LO programming. It's supported when
the ERSTBA is programmed ERSTBA_HI before ERSTBA_LO. That's because
the internal initialization of event ring fetches the
"Event Ring Segment Table Entry" based on the indication of ERSTBA_LO
written.

5ceac4402f xhci: Handle TD clearing for multiple streams case
When multiple streams are in use, multiple TDs might be in flight when
an endpoint is stopped. We need to issue a Set TR Dequeue Pointer for
each, to ensure everything is reset properly and the caches cleared.
Change the logic so that any N>1 TDs found active for different streams
are deferred until after the first one is processed, calling
xhci_invalidate_cancelled_tds() again from xhci_handle_cmd_set_deq() to
queue another command until we are done with all of them. Also change
the error/"should never happen" paths to ensure we at least clear any
affected TDs, even if we can't issue a command to clear the hardware
cache, and complain loudly with an xhci_warn() if this ever happens.

This problem case dates back to commit e9df17eb14 ("USB: xhci: Correct
assumptions about number of rings per endpoint.") early on in the XHCI
driver's life, when stream support was first added.
It was then identified but not fixed nor made into a warning in commit
674f8438c1 ("xhci: split handling halted endpoints into two steps"),
which added a FIXME comment for the problem case (without materially
changing the behavior as far as I can tell, though the new logic made
the problem more obvious).

Then later, in commit 94f339147f ("xhci: Fix failure to give back some
cached cancelled URBs."), it was acknowledged again.

patch. Users reported issues with usb stuck after unmounting/disconnecting
UAS devices. This rolled back the TD clearing of multiple streams to its
original state.]

Apparently the commit author was aware of the problem (yet still chose
to submit it): It was still mentioned as a FIXME, an xhci_dbg() was
added to log the problem condition, and the remaining issue was mentioned
in the commit description. The choice of making the log type xhci_dbg()
for what is, at this point, a completely unhandled and known broken
condition is puzzling and unfortunate, as it guarantees that no actual
users would see the log in production, thereby making it nigh
undebuggable (indeed, even if you turn on DEBUG, the message doesn't
really hint at there being a problem at all).

It took me *months* of random xHC crashes to finally find a reliable
repro and be able to do a deep dive debug session, which could all have
been avoided had this unhandled, broken condition been actually reported
with a warning, as it should have been as a bug intentionally left in
unfixed (never mind that it shouldn't have been left in at all).

3 years after that statement and 14 years after the original bug was
introduced, I think it's finally time to fix it. And maybe next time
let's not leave bugs unfixed (that are actually worse than the original
bug), and let's actually get people to review kernel commits please.

Fixes xHC crashes and IOMMU faults with UAS devices when handling
errors/faults. Easiest repro is to use `hdparm` to mark an early sector
(e.g. 1024) on a disk as bad, then `cat /dev/sdX > /dev/null` in a loop.
At least in the case of JMicron controllers, the read errors end up
having to cancel two TDs (for two queued requests to different streams)
and the one that didn't get cleared properly ends up faulting the xHC
entirely when it tries to access DMA pages that have since been unmapped,
referred to by the stale TDs. This normally happens quickly (after two
or three loops). After this fix, I left the `cat` in a loop running
overnight and experienced no xHC failures, with all read errors
recovered properly. Repro'd and tested on an Apple M1 Mac Mini
(dwc3 host).

On systems without an IOMMU, this bug would instead silently corrupt
freed memory, making this a security bug (even on systems with IOMMUs
this could silently corrupt memory belonging to other USB devices on the
same controller, so it's still a security bug). Given that the kernel
autoprobes partition tables, I'm pretty sure a malicious USB device
pretending to be a UAS device and reporting an error with the right
timing could deliberately trigger a UAF and write to freed memory, with
no user action.

91f7a1524a xhci: Apply broken streams quirk to Etron EJ188 xHCI host

f0260589b4 xhci: Set correct transferred length for cancelled bulk transfers
The transferred length is set incorrectly for cancelled bulk
transfer TDs in case the bulk transfer ring stops on the last transfer
block with a 'Stop - Length Invalid' completion code.

length essentially ends up being set to the requested length:
urb->actual_length = urb->transfer_buffer_length

Length for 'Stop - Length Invalid' cases should be the sum of all
TRB transfer block lengths up to the one the ring stopped on,
_excluding_ the one stopped on.

Fix this by always summing up TRB lengths for 'Stop - Length Invalid'
bulk cases.

This issue was discovered by Alan Stern while debugging
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=218890, but does not
solve that bug. Issue is older than 4.10 kernel but fix won't apply
to those due to major reworks in that area.

'ehci_dbg_port' is unused in oxu210hp-hcd.c since it's original
commit b92a78e582 ("usb host: Oxford OXU210HP HCD driver.")
when it was in a separate header.

Remove it.

Note, that this structure, and some others in the driver
are mostly clones of include/linux/usb/ehci_def.h.
Someone with the hardware to be able to test it might
be able to remove a lot more structs as well and just
use that header.

ae887586bb usb: xhci: remove 'handling_skipped_tds' from handle_tx_event()
When handle_tx_event() encounters a COMP_MISSED_SERVICE_ERROR or
COMP_NO_PING_RESPONSE_ERROR event, it moves to 'goto cleanup'.
Here, it sets a flag, 'handling_skipped_tds', based on conditions that
exclude these two error events.

Subsequently, the process evaluates the loop that persists as long as
'handling_skipped_tds' remains true. However, since 'trb_comp_code' does
not change after its assignment, if it indicates either of the two error
conditions, the loop terminates immediately.

To simplify this process and enhance clarity, the modification involves
returning immediately upon detecting COMP_MISSED_SERVICE_ERROR or
COMP_NO_PING_RESPONSE_ERROR. This adjustment allows for the direct use of
'ep->skip', removing the necessity for the 'handling_skipped_tds' flag.

34b6719824 xhci: remove XHCI_TRUST_TX_LENGTH quirk
If this quirk was set then driver would treat transfer events with
'Success' completion code as 'Short packet' if there were untransferred
bytes left.

This is so common that turn it into default behavior.

xhci_warn_ratelimited() is no longer used after this, so remove it.

A success event with untransferred bytes left doesn't always mean a
misbehaving controller. If there was an error mid a multi-TRB TD it's
allowed to issue a success event for the last TRB in that TD.

See xhci 1.2 spec 4.9.1 Transfer Descriptors

"Note: If an error is detected while processing a multi-TRB TD, the xHC
 shall generate a Transfer Event for the TRB that the error was detected
 on with the appropriate error Condition Code, then may advance to the
 next TD. If in the process of advancing to the next TD, a Transfer TRB
 is encountered with its IOC flag set, then the Condition Code of the
 Transfer Event generated for that Transfer TRB should be Success,
 because there was no error actually associated with the TRB that
 generated the Event. However, an xHC implementation may redundantly
 assert the original error Condition Code."

Reduce the number of do-while loops by 1. The number of loops should be
number of segment + 1, the +1 is in case deq and enq are on the same
segment. But due to the use of a do-while loop, the expression is
evaluated after executing the loop, thus the loop is executed 1 extra
time.

Changing the do-while loop expression from "<=" to "<", reduces the loop
amount by 1. The expression "<=" would also work if it was a while loop
instead of a do-while loop.

Address debug message inaccuracies in xhci_ring_expansion_needed().
Specifically, remove the portion of the debug message that indicates the
number of enqueue TRBs to be added to the dequeue segment. This part of
the message may mislead and the calculated value is incorrect. Given that
this value is not of significant importance and the statement is not
consistently accurate, it has been omitted.

The specific issues with the debug message that this commit resolves:
- The calculation of the number of TRBs is incorrect. The current
  calculation erroneously includes the link TRB, which is reserved.
  Furthermore, the calculated number of TRBs can exceed the dequeue
  segment, resulting in a misleading debug message.

- The current phrasing suggests that "ring expansion by X is needed,
  adding X TRBs moves enqueue Y TRBs into the dequeue segment".
  The intended message, however, is "IF the ring is NOT expanded by X,
  THEN adding X TRBs moves enqueue Y TRBs into the dequeue segment".

Check if requested segments ('segs' or 'ERST_DEFAULT_SEGS') exceeds the
maximum amount ERST supports.

When 'segs' is '0', 'ERST_DEFAULT_SEGS' is used instead. But both values
may not exceed ERST max.

Macro 'ERST_MAX_SEGS' is renamed to 'ERST_DEFAULT_SEGS'. The new name
better represents the macros, which is the number of Event Ring segments
to allocate, when the amount is not specified.

Additionally, rename and change xhci_create_secondary_interrupter()'s
argument 'int num_segs' to 'unsigned int segs'. This makes it the same
as its counter part in xhci_alloc_interrupter().

This also gets rid of the cumbersome way of mapping port to USB2
capability based on portnum as each port has a pointer to its capability

fe81f35484 usb: ohci: Prevent missed ohci interrupts
Testing ohci functionality with qemu's pci-ohci emulation often results
in ohci interface stalls, resulting in hung task timeouts.

The problem is caused by lost interrupts between the emulation and the
Linux kernel code. Additional interrupts raised while the ohci interrupt
handler in Linux is running and before the handler clears the interrupt
status are not handled. The fix for a similar problem in ehci suggests
that the problem is likely caused by edge-triggered MSI interrupts. See
commit 0b60557230 ("usb: ehci: Prevent missed ehci interrupts with
edge-triggered MSI") for details.

Ensure that the ohci interrupt code handles all pending interrupts before
returning to solve the problem.

dda7e89e53 xhci: Fix root hub port null pointer dereference in xhci tracepoints
The pointer from a xhci usb virt device to its root hub port
(vdev->rhub_port) is set later when device is addressed, not while
vdev is allocated.

Tracepoints dereferenced this rhub_port pointer when freeing the virt
device, which causes null pointer dereference if tracing is enabled
and device is freed before addressed.

This can happen if tracing is enabled and xhci driver is unloaded before
a device is fully enumerated, or initial enumeration fails and device
is reset and freed before retry.

Don't dereference the rhub_port or show port numbers when tracing
xhci_free_virt_device(). This info is not very useful anyway.

Print the more useful slot id instead

b234c70fef xhci: Fix failure to detect ring expansion need.
Ring expansion checker may incorrectly assume a completely full ring
is empty, missing the need for expansion.

This is due to a special empty ring case where the dequeue ends up
ahead of the enqueue pointer. This is seen when enqueued TRBs fill up
exactly a segment, with enqueue then pointing to the end link TRB.
Once those TRBs are handled the dequeue pointer will follow the link
TRB and end up pointing to the first entry on the next segment, past
the enqueue.

This same enqueue - dequeue condition can be true if a ring is full,
with enqueue ending on that last link TRB before the dequeue pointer
on the next segment.

This can be seen when queuing several ~510 small URBs via usbfs in
one go before a single one is handled (i.e. dequeue not moved from first
entry in segment).

Expand the ring already when enqueue reaches the link TRB before the
dequeue segment, instead of expanding it when enqueue moves into the
dequeue segment.

Currently xhci_map_urb_for_dma() creates a temporary buffer and copies
the SG list to the new linear buffer. But if the kzalloc_node() fails,
then the following sg_pcopy_to_buffer() can lead to crash since it
tries to memcpy to NULL pointer.

So return -ENOMEM if kzalloc returns null pointer.

fb18e5bb96 xhci: dbc: poll at different rate depending on data transfer activity
DbC driver starts polling for events immediately when DbC is enabled.
The current polling interval is 1ms, which keeps the CPU busy, impacting
power management even when there are no active data transfers.

Solve this by polling at a slower rate, with a 64ms interval as default
until a transfer request is queued, or if there are still are pending
unhandled transfers at event completion.

fd9d55d190 xhci: retry Stop Endpoint on buggy NEC controllers
Two NEC uPD720200 adapters have been observed to randomly misbehave:
a Stop Endpoint command fails with Context Error, the Output Context
indicates Stopped state, and the endpoint keeps running. Very often,
Set TR Dequeue Pointer is seen to fail next with Context Error too,
in addition to problems from unexpectedly completed cancelled work.

The pathology is common on fast running isoc endpoints like uvcvideo,
but has also been reproduced on a full-speed bulk endpoint of pl2303.
It seems all EPs are affected, with risk proportional to their load.

Reproduction involves receiving any kind of stream and closing it to
make the device driver cancel URBs already queued in advance.

Deal with it by retrying the command like in the Running state.

91edf5a0c2 xhci: fix matching completion events with TDs
A trb_in_td() call is used to determine if a completion event matches
any TRB of the currently executing TD. This function is told to start
searching right after the last finished TD, which is not at all where
the currently expected TD is guaranteed to begin, because some TDs in
between may have been cancelled.

Not only is a pointless work performed, but a bug resulting in the HC
executing cancelled TDs was seen to trick the driver into associating
events from a TD just cancelled with an unrelated future TD.

Since the ring is being traversed for the specific purpose of finding
a match with the current TD, always start from its first TRB. This is
the most reliable bit of information that we posses.

Tracking of HC's work progress is not affected, except for cases when
a misattributed event would have moved dequeue past a pending TD.

2e8dd2ded2 usb: xhci: utilize 'xhci_free_segments_for_ring()' for freeing segments
Refactor the code to improve readability by using
'xhci_free_segments_for_ring()' function for freeing ring segments.
This replaces the custom while loop previously used within
'xhci_ring_expansion()' and 'xhci_alloc_segments_for_ring()'.

Slightly modify 'xhci_free_segments_for_ring()' to handle lists
which do not loop. This makes it possible to use it in error
paths of 'xhci_alloc_segments_for_ring()'.

This change also prepares for switching the custom xhci linked segment
list into to more standard list.h lists.

74151b5349 xhci: save slot ID in struct 'xhci_port'
Slot ID is a index of a virtual device in struct 'xhci_hcd->devs[]'.
Previously, to get the slot ID associated with a port, we had to loop
through all devices and compare ports, which is very inefficient.
Instead, the slot ID (of the device which is directly connected to the
port), is added to the its corresponding 'xhci_port' struct. As a result,
finding the port's device is quick and easy.

Function 'xhci_find_slot_id_by_port()' is removed, as it is no longer
needed.

06790c1908 xhci: replace real & fake port with pointer to root hub port
Variables real & fake port do not convey their purpose, thus they are
replaced with a pointer to the root hub port 'struct xhci_port *rhub_port'.
'rhub_port' contains real & fake ports in zero-based format, which happens
to be more widely used inside the xHCI driver:
 - 'real_port' is ('rhub_port->hw_portnum' + 1)
 - 'fake_port' is ('rhub_port->hcd_portnum' + 1)

One reason for real port being one-based, is to signal other functions in
case struct 'xhci_virt_device' initialization failed, in this case the
value will remain 0. This is no longer needed, instead we check whether
or not 'rhub_port' is 'NULL'.

c9a63ec5d2 xhci: rework how real & fake ports are found
xHC hardware needs to know which roothub port a USB device is attached to
when controlling the device, so the xHCI driver stores in each device the
roothub port which it's connected behind. This is done with two different
port index values, the 'real_port' which is an index to the xHC hardware
port register array, and the 'fake_port' which is the per hub port index
used by the hub driver.

Instead of finding real & fake port separately, find the root hub port
'xhci_port' structure which contains both real & fake port values:
    - 'real_port' is ('hw_portnum' + 1)
    - 'fake_port' is ('hcd_portnum' + 1)
i.e. real & fake port are 'hw_portnum' & 'hcd_portnum' in one-based
format.

The 'xhci_port' structure is a better way to refer to roothub ports than
the 'real_port' & 'fake_port'. As a result, these port indexes are slated
to be replaced with a direct pointer to the root hub port. This patch
setups the ground work for the future changes.

9affb1d9a9 xhci: add helper to stop endpoint and wait for completion
Expose xhci_stop_endpoint_sync() which is a synchronous variant of
xhci_queue_stop_endpoint().  This is useful for client drivers that are
using the secondary interrupters, and need to stop/clean up the current
session.  The stop endpoint command handler will also take care of cleaning
up the ring.

Modifications to repurpose the new API into existing stop endpoint
sequences was implemented by Wesley Cheng.

e30e9ad9ed xhci: update event ring dequeue pointer position to controller correctly
The event ring dequeue pointer field (ERDP) in xHC hardware is used to
inform controller how far the driver has processed events on the event
ring.

In the case all events are handled and event ring is empty then the
address of the TRB after the last processed one should be written.
This TRB is both the enqueue and dequeue pointer.

But in case we are writing the ERDP in the middle of processing
several events then ERDP field should be written with the "up to and
including" address of the last handled event TRB.

Currenly each ERDP write by driver is done as if all events are handled
and ring is empty.

Fix this by adjusting the order when software dequeue "inc_deq()"
is called and hardware dequeue "xhci_update_erst_dequeue()" is updated.

Details in xhci 1.2 specification section 4.9.4:

"System software shall write the Event Ring Dequeue Pointer (ERDP)
 register to inform the xHC that it has completed the processing of Event
 TRBs up to and including the Event TRB referenced by the ERDP.

 The detection of a Cycle bit mismatch in an Event TRB processed by
 software indicates the location of the xHC Event Ring Enqueue Pointer
 and that the Event Ring is empty. Software shall write the ERDP with
 the address of this TRB to indicate that it has processed all Events
 in the ring"

This change depends on fixes made to relocate inc_deq() calls captured
in the below commits:

143e64df1b xhci: remove unnecessary event_ring_deq parameter from xhci_handle_event()
The event_ring_deq parameter is used to check if the event ring dequeue
position is updated while calling by xhci_handle_event(), meaning there was
an actual event on the ring to handle. In this case the driver needs to
inform hardware about the updated dequeue position.
Basically event_ring_deq just stores the old event ring dequeue position
before calling the event handler.

Keeping track of software event dequeue updates this way is no longer
useful as driver anyways reads the current hardware dequeue position
within the handle event, and checks if it needs to be updated.

The driver might anyway need to modify the EHB (event handler busy) bit in
the same register as the dequeue pointer even if the actual dequeue
position did not change.

becbd202af xhci: make isoc_bei_interval variable interrupter specific.
isoc_bei_interval is used to balance how often completed isochronous
events cause interrupts. If interval is too large then the event ring
may fill up before the completed isoc TRBs are handled.

isoc_bei_interval is tuned based on how full the event ring is.

isoc_bei_interval variable needs to be per interrupter as
with several interrupters each one has its own event ring.

move isoc_bei_interval variable to the interrupter structure.

if a secondary interrupter does not care about this feature then
keep isoc_bei_interval 0.

ace2162587 xhci: Add helper to set an interrupters interrupt moderation interval
Add a helper to set the interrupt moderation interval for an interrupter.
Each interrupter can have its own moderation value.

Hardware has a 16bit register for the moderation value, each step is 250ns.

Helper function imod_interval argument is in nanoseconds.

Values from 0 to 16383750 (250 x 0xffff) are accepted.
0 means no interrupt throttling.

4f022aad80 xhci: Add interrupt pending autoclear flag to each interrupter
Each interrupter has an interrupt pending (IP) bit that should be cleared
in the interrupt handler. This is done automatically for systems using
MSI/MSI-X interrupts.

Secondary interrupters used by audio offload may not actually trigger
MSI/MSI-X messages, so driver may need to clear the IP bit manually for
these, even if the primary interrupter IP is cleared automatically.

Add an ip_autoclear flag to each interrupter that driver can configure
when requesting an interrupt for that xHC interrupter, and move
the interrupt pending clearing code to its own helper function.
Use this ip_autoclear flag instead of the current hcd->msi_enabled
to check if IP flag is cleared by software.

Add support for ac5 to the EHCI Orion platform driver.
The ac5 SOC has DDR starting at offset 0x2_0000_0000,
Hence it requires a larger than 32-bit DMA mask to operate.
Move the dma mask to be pointed by the OF match data, and
use that match data when initializng the DMA mask.

7c4650ded4 xhci: handle isoc Babble and Buffer Overrun events properly
xHCI 4.9 explicitly forbids assuming that the xHC has released its
ownership of a multi-TRB TD when it reports an error on one of the
early TRBs. Yet the driver makes such assumption and releases the TD,
allowing the remaining TRBs to be freed or overwritten by new TDs.

The xHC should also report completion of the final TRB due to its IOC
flag being set by us, regardless of prior errors. This event cannot
be recognized if the TD has already been freed earlier, resulting in
"Transfer event TRB DMA ptr not part of current TD" error message.

Fix this by reusing the logic for processing isoc Transaction Errors.
This also handles hosts which fail to report the final completion.

Fix transfer length reporting on Babble errors. They may be caused by
device malfunction, no guarantee that the buffer has been filled.

5372c65e13 xhci: process isoc TD properly when there was a transaction error mid TD.
The last TRB of a isoc TD might not trigger an event if there was
an error event for a TRB mid TD. This is seen on a NEC Corporation
uPD720200 USB 3.0 Host

After an error mid a multi-TRB TD the xHC should according to xhci 4.9.1
generate events for passed TRBs with IOC flag set if it proceeds to the
next TD. This event is either a copy of the original error, or a
"success" transfer event.

If that event is missing then the driver and xHC host get out of sync as
the driver is still expecting a transfer event for that first TD, while
xHC host is already sending events for the next TD in the list.
This leads to
"Transfer event TRB DMA ptr not part of current TD" messages.

As a solution we tag the isoc TDs that get error events mid TD.
If an event doesn't match the first TD, then check if the tag is
set, and event points to the next TD.
In that case give back the fist TD and process the next TD normally

Make sure TD status and transferred length stay valid in both cases
with and without final TD completion event.

09f197225c xhci: fix off by one check when adding a secondary interrupter.
The sanity check of interrupter index when adding a new interrupter is
off by one. intr_num needs to be smaller than xhci->max_interrupter to
fit the array of interrupters.

Luckily this doesn't cause any real word harm as xhci_add_interrupter()
is always called with a intr_num value smaller than xhci->max_interrupters
in any current kernel.

Should not be needed for stable as 6.7 kernel and older only supports
one interrupter, with intr_num always being zero.

520b391e3e usb: host: xhci-plat: Add support for XHCI_SG_TRB_CACHE_SIZE_QUIRK
Upstream commit bac1ec5514 ("usb: xhci: Set quirk for
XHCI_SG_TRB_CACHE_SIZE_QUIRK") introduced a new quirk in XHCI
which fixes XHC timeout, which was seen on synopsys XHCs while
using SG buffers. Currently this quirk can only be set using
xhci private data. But there are some drivers like dwc3/host.c
which adds adds quirks using software node for xhci device.
Hence set this xhci quirk by iterating over device properties.

c99b38c412 xhci: add support to allocate several interrupters
Modify the XHCI drivers to accommodate for handling multiple event rings in
case there are multiple interrupters.  Add the required APIs so clients are
able to allocate/request for an interrupter ring, and pass this information
back to the client driver.  This allows for users to handle the resource
accordingly, such as passing the event ring base address to an audio DSP.
There is no actual support for multiple MSI/MSI-X vectors.

017dbfc05c usb: xhci-mtk: fix a short packet issue of gen1 isoc-in transfer
For Gen1 isoc-in transfer, host still send out unexpected ACK after device
finish the burst with a short packet, this will cause an exception on the
connected device, such as, a usb 4k camera.
It can be fixed by setting rxfifo depth less than 4k bytes, prefer to use
3k here, the side-effect is that may cause performance drop about 10%,
including bulk transfer.

6d6887c42e usb: xhci-plat: fix usb disconnect issue after s4
The xhci retaining bogus hardware states cause usb disconnect devices
connected before hibernation(s4) and refer to the commit 'f3d478858be
("usb: ohci-platform: fix usb disconnect issue after s4")' which set
flag "hibernated" as true when resume-from-hibernation and that the
drivers will reset the hardware to get rid of any existing state and
make sure resume from hibernation re-enumerates everything for xhci.

80602b6b5a xhci: Fix null pointer dereference during S4 resume when resetting ep0
During device enumeration usb core resets endpoint 0 if the max packet
size value differs from the one read from the device descriptor.

usb core will additionally reset endpoint 0 during S4 resume, before
re-enumerating the device, if the device has a reset-resume flag set.

In this case the xhci device representation vdev may be lost due to
xHC restore error and re-initialization during S4 resume.

Make sure slot_id and vdev are valid before trying to re-configure max
packet size during endpoint 0 reset.
max packet size will be re-configured later during re-enumeration.

This fixes commit e34900f46c ("xhci: Reconfigure endpoint 0 max packet
size only during endpoint reset") which is currently in usb-next,
on its way to 6.8

a6eef67cdb usb: host: max3421-hcd: Replace snprintf() with the safer scnprintf() variant
There is a general misunderstanding amongst engineers that {v}snprintf()
returns the length of the data *actually* encoded into the destination
array.  However, as per the C99 standard {v}snprintf() really returns
the length of the data that *would have been* written if there were
enough space for it.  This misunderstanding has led to buffer-overruns
in the past.  It's generally considered safer to use the {v}scnprintf()
variants in their place (or even sprintf() in simple cases).  So let's
do that.

24be0b3c40 Revert "xhci: Loosen RPM as default policy to cover for AMD xHC 1.1"
This reverts commit 4baf121815.

Enabling runtime pm as default for all AMD xHC 1.1 controllers caused
regression. An initial attempt to fix those was done in commit a5d6264b63
("xhci: Enable RPM on controllers that support low-power states") but new
issues are still seen.

Revert this to get those AMD xHC 1.1 systems working

This patch went to stable an needs to be reverted from there as well.

e2e2aacf04 xhci: fix possible null pointer deref during xhci urb enqueue
There is a short gap between urb being submitted and actually added to the
endpoint queue (linked). If the device is disconnected during this time
then usb core is not yet aware of the pending urb, and device may be freed
just before xhci_urq_enqueue() continues, dereferencing the freed device.

Freeing the device is protected by the xhci spinlock, so make sure we take
and keep the lock while checking that device exists, dereference it, and
add the urb to the queue.

Remove the unnecessary URB check, usb core checks it before calling
xhci_urb_enqueue()
