8cf54fa844 perf vendor events intel: Update ivybridge TMA metrics to 4.7
Top-Down Microarchitecture Analysis (TMA) metrics simplify
cycle-accounting using microarchitecture-abstracted metrics
organized in one hierarchy. This update is from version 4.5 to
4.7.

The update includes:

 - Swapped tma_info_core_ilp (becomes per SMT thread) and
   tma_info_pipeline_execute (per physical core).
 - Reduced number of events when SMT is off.
 - Tuned thresholds for tma_fetch_bandwidth and
   tma_ports_utilized_3m.

The update came from:

https://github.com/intel/perfmon/pull/140
https://github.com/intel/perfmon/pull/138

Running the script:

https://github.com/intel/perfmon/blob/main/scripts/create_perf_json.py

6ac2230b55 perf vendor events intel: Add metricgroup descriptions for all models
Add metric group descriptions created by:

The descriptions add some additional detail in perf list.

Committer notes:

Removed unrelated changes to tools/perf/pmu-events/arch/x86/mapfile.csv
that removed AMD mappings and ended up breaking the build with things

ccc66c6092 perf metric: JSON flag to not group events if gathering a metric group
Some metric groups have metrics that don't have fully overlapping
events, meaning that the group's events become unique event groups that
may need to multiplex with each other. This can be particularly
unfortunate when the groups wouldn't need to multiplex because there are
sufficient hardware counters.

Add a flag so that if recording a metric group then the metrics within
the group needn't use groups for their events. The flag is added to
Intel TopdownL1 and TopdownL2 metrics.

using https://github.com/intel/perfmon.

Notable changes are TMA info metrics are renamed from their node name
to be lower case and prefixed by tma_info_, MetricThreshold
expressions are added, and the smi_cost metric group is added
replicating existing hard coded metrics in stat-shadow.

d86ac8d7cd perf vendor events intel: Refresh ivybridge metrics and events
Update the ivybridge metrics and events using the new tooling from:

  https://github.com/intel/perfmon

The metrics are unchanged but the formulas differ due to parentheses,
use of exponents and removal of redundant operations like "* 1". The
events are unchanged but the version number is 23 to match the perfmon
version. In the events unused json values are removed. The formatting
changes increase consistency across the json files.

3bd2d21171 perf vendor events: Update Intel ivybridge
Events remain at v22, and the metrics are based on TMA 4.4 full.

Use script at:
https://github.com/intel/event-converter-for-linux-perf/blob/master/download_and_gen.py
with updates at:
https://github.com/captain5050/event-converter-for-linux-perf

Updates include:
 - Rename of topdown TMA metrics from Frontend_Bound to tma_frontend_bound.
 - _SMT suffix metrics are dropped as the #SMT_On and #EBS_Mode are
correctly expanded in the single main metric.
 - Addition of all 6 levels of TMA metrics. Child metrics are placed in
a group named after their parent allowing children of a metric to
be easily measured using the metric name with a _group suffix.
 - ## and ##? operators are correctly expanded.
 - The locate-with column is added to the long description describing
   a sampling event.
 - Metrics are written in terms of other metrics to reduce the
   expression size and increase readability.

Tested with 'perf test':

8ed1faf015 perf pmu-events x86: Use CPU_CLK_UNHALTED.THREAD in Kernel_Utilization metric
The kernel utilization metric does multiplexing currently and is somewhat
unreliable. The problem is that it uses two instances of the fixed counter,
and the kernel has to multipleplex which causes errors. So should use
CPU_CLK_UNHALTED.THREAD instead.

Before:

  # perf stat -M Kernel_Utilization -- sleep 1

Performance counter stats for 'sleep 1':

          1,419,425 cpu_clk_unhalted.ref_tsc:k
      <not counted> cpu_clk_unhalted.ref_tsc	(0.00%)

After:

  # perf stat -M Kernel_Utilization -- sleep 1

Performance counter stats for 'sleep 1':

            746,688 cpu_clk_unhalted.thread:k # 0.7 Kernel_Utilization
          1,088,348 cpu_clk_unhalted.thread

New Metrics:

- DSB_Switches: fraction of cycles CPU was stalled due to switches from DSB to MITE pipeline [all]
- L2_Evictions_{Silent|NonSilent}_PKI: L2 {silent|non silent} ecivtions rate per Kilo instruction [SKX+]

fd5500989c perf vendor events intel: Update metrics from TMAM 3.5
Update all the Intel JSON metrics from Ahmad Yasin's TMAM 3.5
for Intel big core from Sandy Bridge to Cascade Lake.

This has many improvements and new metircs

- New TopDownL1_SMT group that provides a per SMT thread version
of --topdown that does not require -a anymore. The drawback is
increased multiplexing though since L1 TopDown does not fit into
4 generic counters anymore.

- Added SMT aware versions of other metrics

- Split SMT aware metrics into separate metrics to avoid
unnecessary event collections

- New metrics for better branch analysis:
Estimated Branch_Mispredict_Costs, Instructions per taken Branch,
Branch Instructions per Taken Branch, etc.

- Instruction mix metrics:
Instructions per load, Instructions per store, Instructions per Branch,
Instructions per Call

- New Cache metrics:
Bandwidth to L1/L2/L3 caches. L1/L2/L3 misses per kilo instructions.
memory level parallelism

- New memory controller metrics:
Normalized memory bandwidth in interval mode, Average memory latency,
Average number of parallel read requests,

- 3DXP persistent memory metrics for Cascade Lake:
3dxp read latency, 3dxp read/write bandwidth

- Some other useful metrics like Instruction Level Parallelism,

- Various other improvements.

Not all metrics are available on all CPUs. Skylake has best coverage.
