Currently swap is restricted before drivers have had a chance to do their prepare() PM callbacks. Restricting swap this early means that if a driver needs to evict some content from memory into sawp in it's prepare callback, it won't be able to. On AMD dGPUs this can lead to failed suspends under memory pressure situations as all VRAM must be evicted to system memory or swap. Move the swap restriction to right after all devices have had a chance to do the prepare() callback. If there is any problem with the sequence, restore swap in the appropriate dpm resume callbacks or error handling paths. Linux kernel
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use make htmldocs or
make pdfdocs. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the reStructuredText markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
