Changes covered several areas. Version 2.3 of the YP now supports
recipe-specific sysroots and is not limited to machine-specific
as was prior releases. Manual changes were as follows:
dev-manual: "Sharing Files Between Recipes" - Wordings were changed
to support the new functionality.
ref-manual: do_prepare_recipe_sysroot task added to the list of
tasks described in "Configuration and Compilation".
ref-manual: Extensive re-write of the "staging.bbclass" section.
ref-manual: Added a section to the build structure for
build/tmp/work/tunearch/recipename/version/. This section breaks
down the recipe-specific subdirectories used to create (stage)
the sysroot.
ref-manual: New section (entry) for the do_prepare_recipe_sysroot
task in the task chapter.
ref-manual: Added a variable glossary description for the
SSTATE_SCAN_FILES variable.
In addition to these changes, I sprinkled in a liberal amount
of cross-referencing for the readers pleasure.

When a post-installation or pre-installation script uses tools that
have dependencies, you need to specify the tools using the new
PACKAGE_WRITE_DEPS variable. I added this information at the end
of the "Post Installtion Scripts" section in the dev-manual.

in the glossary.

There is no current way to specify or list plug-in dependencies
when building a Wic image. The variable WKS_FILE_DEPENDS was introduced
to allow the user to use this in the recipe building the image.
I added a description and example of the variable to the ref-manual
variable glossary. I also cross-referenced the variable in the
"Plug-ins" section of the dev-manual to point to the variable for
more information.

The "Maintaining Open Source License Compliance During Your
Product's Lifecycle" section in the dev manual covers use of
archiver.bbclass, but is missing mention of the filtering
options (e.g COPYLEFT_LICENSE_INCLUDE, COPYLEFT_LICENSE_EXCLUDE
and COPYLEFT_RECIPE_TYPES). I added descriptions for these
three. During the write-up, Paul noticed a couple other variables
missing: COPYLEFT_PN_INCLUDE and COPYLEFT_PN_EXCLUDE. I also
added descriptions for these two variables.

We did not document how to create an initramfs image to be included
with a kernel build. Various variables sort of inferred the
knowledge. I created a new section in the "Common Tasks" section
of the dev-manual that describes how to create an initramfs image.
Also, I updated the kernel.bbclass reference section to point back
to the new "how-to" section.
Finally, I also created a bunch of cross-reference links from various
related variables back to the new "how-to" section.

This fix essentially had to document how to add the API
documentation to the standard SDK. The fix required adding a
new appendix to the SDK manual on how to customize that
standard SDK. I could not put just one topic in a new appendix
so I also added a sub-section on how to add indidual packages
to the standard SDK.
Other changes here were the introduction of a new file for the new
appendix, updated the mega-manual.xml file so that it would include
the new chapter when the MM was built. Finally, I added some
cross-referencing to the new appendix from the TOOLCHAIN_HOST_TASK
and TOOLCHAIN_TARGET_TASK variables. And a cross reference from the
distro features section on the api-documentation bullet.

Pointed out that the EXTENDPKGV variable is hard to locate in the
BB manual. Firstly, we don't document that variable in the
BB manual.... maybe we should. For the ref-manual, however, it is
barely referenced in a side example from the dev-manual. So, I
updated the RDEPENDS variable to have a "Tip" box in the area where
it is shown how to use the package version as part of the RDEPENDs
variable.

The value for USERADD_ERROR_DYNAMIC changed from "1" to "error"
to activate this variable. Also, the value "warn" is used
to cause a warning to be issued. I updated the variable
description to reflect this.
For the USERADDEXTENSION variable, I updated the [doc] string
to use proper quote marks. I was not nesting these properly.

The previous description was not accurate. Looking at the code,
SERIAL_CONSOLES_CHECK does not act like SERIAL_CONSOLES, as it
will not add consoles to enable but only check and disable
consoles defined by SERIAL_CONSOLES. Also, the previous patch
adds aliasing functionality that needed to be documented.
I (Scott Rifenbark) did a bit of word-smithing here from the
original patch.

These classes have been removed. The bootimg class was sucked
into the image-live class. I removed the reference sections to
both classes and fixed the references throughout the manual set
as needed.

MACHINE_ESSENTIAL_EXTRA_RRECOMMENDS won't always grab your
out-of-tree module recipe since the kernel recipe's
PACKAGES_DYNAMIC variable provides kernel-module-*. This
patch documents that your out-of-tree module needs to explicitly
set its PACKAGES variable to avoid this behavior.

Updated several classes with feedback from Jose Lamego of Intel.
The feedback fixed some class groupings so that previously isolated
classes could be bundled under common classes (e.g.
autotools*.bbclass).
I scrubbed the cross-references for cases where a particular
class became "undocumented." The cross-references now point to
the bundled class entry in the ref-manual.

Updated the SRC_URI variable description to cross-reference
the "Fetchers" section in the BitBake User Manual and added
some more Fetcher URL parameters specific to certain fetchers.
This was done to help clarify how to put fetched code into
specific directories.
Also updated the bin_packages.bbclass description to have a
better example. Used a git:// fetcher example and provided
some specific URL parameters.

This variable has been deprecated a while and Paul Eggleton suggested
we finally remove it from the glossary. I removed it and also

Each of these variables no longer accepts arbitrary shell commands but
rather functions. The wordings now support that behavior.
Also, updated the migration section for going to 1.6 release to note
this change.

I updated both the PARALLEL_MAKE and PARALLEL_MAKEINST variables
by expanding the note to indicate how to prohibit parallel make
threads. Also, added a cross-referencing link to the
"Debugging Parallel Make Races" section.
I added a short note to the start of the "Debugging Parallel Make
Races" section noting that if they can't properly fix the condition,
they can always do a work-around to set the PARALLEL_MAKE or
PARALLEL_MAKEINST variables to null.

I added some more detail to these two variables. The system sets
them according to the perceived number of cores. These default
setting are cool for single socket systems. However, if you
have some big system with a lot of physical CPUs, you might want
to cap off the values at 20. This is according to Darren Hart.
I also put in some cross-references to the "Speeding Up the Build"
section.

In response to community input where developers were attempting to
locate information on how to write packages out to a directory
other than ${DEPLOY_DIR}/<package_type>, I updated the "Package
Feeds" section, added several new DEPLOY_DIR_* variables, updated
four classes, and updated four tasks. Here are some details:
* Made changes to the "Package Feeds" section to provide more
accurate information in the package feeds directory structure
used by the build system in build/tmp. These changes included
updating the figure itself and some explanatory text.
* Updated the DEPLOY_DIR variable description.
* Added new variable descriptions for DEPLOY_DIR_DEB, DEPLOY_DIR_IPK,
DEPLOY_DIR_RPM, and DEPLOY_DIR_TAR.
* Updated the related classes: package_deb, package_ipk, package_rpm,
and package_tar.
* Updated the related tasks: do_package_write_deb, do_package_write_ipk,
do_package_write_rpm, and do_package_write_tar.

Applied some suggestions from Paul Eggleton to downplay the role
of this variable. It is basically ignored now in all parts of the
manual set except for the descriptions of the variable itself
and the BBLAYERS variable. I added some text reinforcing the fact
that BBLAYERS_NON_REMOVABLE is ignored by the build system and only
matters if you are using Hob.

I moved the PNG file for the context to be the first item displayed
for a given glossary term. The PNG file must be negatively indented
though to look decent.

These reformatting changes were needed because of brower incompatibilities
discovered with the existing solution for displaying these PNG files

Added an example for when the user tries to inherit the most recent
version of software through use of the SRCREV variable. When using
SRCREV = "${AUTOREV}" PV does not always get ${SRCPV}, which it need
in order to fetch the latest software. I added a clarifying example
to explain this situation.
This commit also has a small change to fix a broken link to
EXTERNAL_TOOLCHAIN. We do not documentat that variable so I removed
the link.

I created a new section in the toolchain chapter of the adt-manual
called "optionally Using an External Toolchain". This provides
some fundamental information for the user that wants to use
an external toolchain. Additionally, it references Mentor
Graphics Sourcery toolchain as an example.
In the ref-manual, I updated the TCMODE variable description to
better integrate the MGC Sourcery toolchain as the overriding
example.

The image feature 'debug-tweaks' has been fragmented into three
separate areas of functionality that deals with handling empty
passwords and post-installation logging. I updated the list of
image features appropriately and the description of 'debug-tweaks'
in the EXTRA_IMAGE_FEATURES variable.

Discovered that the solution I had to display a small PNG file
to indicate the context a variable is used in the build system
was not displaying properly in the ref-manual variable glossary
when using the Chrome browser. The solution was to adjust some
settings in the CSS file and place the image after the term.
This allowed me to dump the webkit stuff that I had inserted
into the CSS file styles to make it work in Mozilla, which
ended up not working in Chrome.
Additionally, I needed to update the 'define-generic.png' file to
have less white space on top as part of the figure. Note that
this commit adds the figure to Git for tracking as well.
